Tao Te Ching, Chapter 75 [Original]
The hunger of the people, as much as the food tax on it, is hunger.
The people are difficult to govern, and it is difficult to govern with what is done above.
The light death of the people, with the thickness of survival on it, is to die lightly.
The husband is the only one who has no way to live, and he is virtuous in his life.

9. With the world in mind, the world will protect you with love.
The core of the first paragraph of this chapter is the word "people," but don't limit the word "people" to a literal meaning:
- In the heavens, the people refer to the stars;
- In the case of the nation, the people refer to the people;
- In the case of enterprises, the people refer to their employees;
- In the body, the people refer to the cells.
Lao Tzu analyzed the three major social problems of "the hunger of the people, the difficulty of governing the people, and the light death of the people", and used the metaphor of governing the country to not only warn the king, but also remind the individual: the growth of life
- It is necessary to put simplicity above and luxury as the bottom;
- It is necessary to put dedication above and pleasure as the bottom;
- It is necessary to prosper benevolent government with kindness, and let the people recuperate.
The people are the foundation of the country, the people are happy, and the social ills will soon be cured without medicine, because the root of the disease will be uprooted.
If apples are rotten, they all start from the "heart".
The reason why social chaos occurs frequently, these three "above" are the root causes of contradictions:
- "The hunger of the people" and "the amount of food tax on it" are an imbalance between more and less;
- There is an imbalance between "the people are difficult to govern" and "what is done on top";
- "The people die lightly" and "the thickness of survival on top" is an imbalance between thin and thick.
However, the people are in a lower position, and many things can only be passively accepted, so the ruler in the upper position must first cultivate his mind, must first deny himself, and must first set an example, and this is precisely the blind spot of management.
When it comes to "management", rulers are generally busy managing their subordinates, but they are laissez-faire with their own management.
Most of the rules set by the rulers are also used for downward supervision, but they neglect to consider their own supervision.
But the king is the source of the management system, and once the source is dirty, no matter how much it is cleaned up, it cannot be clear.
So, wise rulers have two consciousnesses:
The first realization is: "I am also a managed".
Governed by Conscience, Heavenly Principles, and Natural Dao -- A ruler who only wants to manage others, but does not want to be managed by conscience, heavenly reason, and natural avenue, will inevitably be left in the stench of doing whatever he wants for 10,000 years.
The second realization: "I have to take care of myself first".
It is impossible for a ruler who does not manage himself well to bring out a good atmosphere. Any team is up and down, and it doesn't matter what the leader says, what he does.
How to be a wise ruler, leader, parent, or individual?
In the sixteenth chapter of the Tao Te Ching, there are six great tricks:
- First, "know what is always tolerated" and be inclusive;
- second, "tolerance is public", to be fair and selfless;
- Third, "public is complete", so as to achieve overall harmony;
- Fourth, "all is heaven", so as to imitate heaven and earth;
- Fifth, "Heaven is the way", so as to realize the origin of the avenue;
- Sixth, "the road is long", always hold the road, and there is no danger for life.
The ancients had a good saying: "Deze is in the sea, and the well-being is to the prince." ”
Those who are in the upper position can have the world in their hearts, can benefit all the people, and ultimately benefit themselves, because the world is one, and benefiting others is the most real self-benefit.
Therefore, the best leader is not to guide the country, but to lead by example, not only to be a good person, but to take responsibility.
Leave the best to others, and the world is willing to protect you with love, which is the great wisdom of self-satisfaction without asking.
