After many communications, during the Qingming Festival holiday, on April 5, Shi Zhenyu accepted an interview with a reporter from Dahe Daily Yu Video "Seeing", telling about the creation process of "Song Written to Xin Yi", the experience after the song became popular and his own plans for the future.

"See": Can you briefly introduce yourself?
Shi Zhenyu: I am Shi Zhenyu, a senior high school candidate, and the composer, lyricist, and original singer of "Song to Xin Yi". At present, the sample of this song has been recorded, and it will be launched on the whole network on April 9. A second version of this song may be released in the future, but it will have to wait until after the college entrance examination.
Seeing: Why is there a version now?
Shi Zhenyu: In response to everyone's concern, coupled with the rampant piracy, a version of the demo (sample) will be launched first, and the production is relatively simple. This song has 3 lyrics, and now I am about to take the college entrance examination, so I don't have time to sort it out. Seeing: How did you come up with the song?
Shi Zhenyu: On March 19th, my classmates discussed preparing birthday congratulations for the class teacher, and the singing part was handed over to me. Because they didn't pick the right song, they said you should write one. Then I wrote it on the same day, and it was written in 5 minutes, humming it.
In fact, anyone who knows music or plays the guitar can hear that the chords of this song are very simple. Because I don't understand music theory, it sounds good because this chord is more old-fashioned, it's the kind of pop song chord that everyone is used to, I hummed a few words along the chord, hummed the song out, and then everyone thought it was okay.
I don't have strong literary skills, and I said that I would give it to other students to write, but they couldn't write it, saying that I wrote this song, and they couldn't grasp where this emotional point was, so I tried to write it.
It was really time-consuming, and it took an hour or two that night. I couldn't sing too long in the evening self-study on the teacher's birthday, so I only sang one paragraph. The lyrics of this song are actually three paragraphs, the first paragraph is about our present, the second paragraph is about our future path, and the third paragraph is that we will return here when we are older, and Xin Yi is still there. Now there is only one paragraph, which is the one circulating on the Internet.
This is a song written for Xin Yi, but I won't express it directly, so I express my feelings for the teacher by writing about us, the teacher cultivated us, her life is worth it, and in the end it fell on Xin Yi.

Shi Zhenyu: Xin Yi is very special, and it is very rare to meet such a teacher. I think she is different from most teachers, she is not so conformist, she is very unconventional, she has her own educational philosophy, and she is very different in the management of students. She's not exactly a homeroom teacher, and she's not the same if she's a friend, so I can't tell you how it feels.

Shi Zhenyu: There is a lyric, my lyrics are "The stars are shining at night, stumbling all the way, I don't know where to go", and Zhao Lei's original lyrics are "Looking all the way, stumbling, where are the midnight meteors going". The words "stumbling" and "where to go" are borrowed or tributed, I don't know, anyway, I deliberately want to get closer to this aspect, it's an easter egg, I hope others will find out that I like Zhao Lei, just like I found a friend, it turns out that you also like Zhao Lei.

Seeing: Have you ever learned to arrange music or play an instrument?
Shi Zhenyu: I don't know much about musical instruments, and I don't know if I can play the guitar correctly, but I have it in my head, and some humming is sometimes recorded with a voice recorder on my mobile phone or a point reader. Since the fifth or sixth grade of elementary school, just hum, write it down, write it down, forget it, forget it, now there are more than ten or twenty songs, relatively broken, I don't want to write lyrics when I write songs, the lyrics are more difficult for me. If I make an album, I guess it will be wasted on the lyrics.
When I graduated from elementary school, I learned guitar for two weeks, and my teacher taught me to read six strings, but then I didn't want to learn it, and they taught me those songs that I didn't understand, and they didn't listen to them. I picked up the guitar in early 2020, and when I was in my third year of junior high school, I didn't think it was interesting to stay at home. At that time, I listened to Zhao Lei's song, there was a song called "Young Jinshi", when I heard it, I said that this song is not just 53231323? So, I don't know if I understand the arrangement, but it seems to be the same when you hear it. Like acting, it is nothing in the eyes of professional people, and it may be more real than professional in the eyes of ordinary people, these are two ways, I may be a typical wild way.
I'm going to definitely learn music theory in the future. This is a foundation, just like reading a book must first recognize words, this foundation to my hands is a kind of way, it may be another way or it is still wild.
"See": How did you feel about this song when you performed it in class? Did you think the song would become popular?
Shi Zhenyu: This song can't be up to the mark, I don't think it's so good. I was very attentive to the words and poured a lot of affection into the class teacher. When this song has a little traffic, including being forwarded by the People's Daily and CCTV News, I listen to it repeatedly, wondering why there is traffic? I think it may be that the words are more sincere, I was nervous at the time, and I couldn't let go of my voice, I sang out of tune, and the guitar was played in a hurry, so I didn't understand that this song was so good?
"Seeing": After the song became popular, I saw someone singing it, what do you think of this phenomenon?
Shi Zhenyu: I don't object to the cover, I think it's okay for you to remark my name on the cover. My classmate @ I am a sheep began to give me a note of "Zhenyu", and some people on the Internet wrote "Wang Zhenyu" and "Li Zhenyu", which I think is very inappropriate. That day, my friend recommended a lot of elementary school students to sing this song, and I think it is better than me to sing it, and I feel more like that, and it would be very meaningful if everyone could have fun.

Shi Zhenyu: No, it's a publishing company. After the song became popular, many people contacted Xin Yi and me to buy the copyright.
