Some leather is a composite of collagen fibers, tanning agents and other chemical products, which has strong hydrophilicity. Therefore, if this type of leather product is not waterproofed, it will show poor adaptability and weather resistance.

1. Waterproof and anti-siphon treatment of leather

The waterproof treatment of the surface of ordinary leather is generally completed by the finishing process, and the waterproof finishing agent used is mainly composed of siloxane polymers or fluorine-containing acrylate polymers as the representative of fluorine-containing waterproofing agents. Fluorine-containing waterproofing agent is a commonly used chemical in the waterproof leather industry, this kind of fluoride can form a dense fluorinated surface layer on the surface of the leather, its lower surface can make it difficult for water droplets and oil beads to penetrate the leather, and the treated leather can keep the texture of the material unchanged while having waterproof and oil-proof properties, and still has good air permeability and soft feel.

However, the potential environmental impact of the monomer perfluorooctanoic acid (PFOA) and perfluorooctane sulfonyl compounds (PFOS) in fluorinated water repellent agents has aroused great public concern, in this context, PFOA-free and PFOS-free with their excellent environmental protection characteristics and waterproof and anti-siphon performance, is gradually becoming a green alternative to fluorinated water repellent agents, and also provides a new waterproof solution for the waterproof treatment of leather products such as waterproof automotive interior leather, waterproof upper leather, waterproof clothing leather, and waterproof strap leather.

Second, leather low-temperature fluorine-free waterproof and anti-siphon finishing

In the waterproof and anti-siphon finishing of leather, it shows good application advantages.
