In the last issue, I shared with you some stories and some feelings about my experience with Dongjingyi X5.
In this issue, I will end my sadness about the years and talk about how the 80,000-level domestic compact SUV ten years ago was driven and used from the perspective of the car.
Chapter 5: Weak Motivation, But What?
Ever since I got my driver's license at the age of 18, I've always believed that I'm an avid driver.
When I was in college, I loved to drive go-karts, and when I was working, my first job was as a car editor, and I wanted to drive more good cars.
With this simple hobby, I have driven a lot of cars, including dream cars such as AMG and M-Power.
But no matter how expensive and strong the car is, it is driven with caution and cannot be allowed to be presumptuous.
His own Jingyi X5 is a very tangled car.
The 4A92 engine is equipped with only 122Ps horsepower and 151Nm of torque. Such a self-priming engine can push a vehicle weight of about 1.4 tons, which is actually quite difficult.
Especially when the seat is full and the air conditioning is turned on, it will be wheezing and struggling.
At the start, you have to change gears after 3000 rpm to get enough power.
But objectively speaking, the power of this car is okay for entry-level driving enthusiasts.
I've driven this car on the track before, and it's interesting how powerful it is when it's empty + no air conditioning. The Mitsubishi engine has high-rev characteristics, and this small-displacement machine with a cut-off speed of up to 6600rpm has some momentum in the high-rev range.

If I'm not sensitive to the price of oil one day, I'll keep the revs above 4500 rpm while driving. Above this rev range, I call it "chicken blood mode". The engine is stimulated by the gearbox and accelerator pedal to produce a high-pitched sound with a linear, responsive power response.
According to my actual test, the Jingyi X5 1.6L manual transmission model can enter the 000 acceleration time of less than 10.5 seconds, which is quite good in this "weak chicken power" model.
Moreover, this kind of car that stimulates the senses but is not very powerful in practice can hone the driver's skills.
On this bike, I learned how to start with a catapult, I learned how to operate with a toe, and I even learned to shift without a clutch. In short, I can have the current driving skills, which is inseparable from the dedication of Jingyi X5 to "sacrifice yourself and achieve the master".
Chapter 6: I tried to split it, but failed
In terms of platform structure, the chassis of Jingyi X5 is relatively close to the old Nissan Qashqai and Mitsubishi ASX, using the front MacPherson + rear three-link suspension structure. Theoretically speaking, both Qashqai and ASX have a more flexible handling feeling, and Jingyi X5 should naturally inherit this characteristic.
But in fact, the suspension structure is similar, which does not mean that the materials and tuning are necessarily the same. Compared with the tight and resilient chassis of the Qashqai, the Jingyi X5 is softer. However, such a tuning strategy also directly leads to the problem of "aftershocks and large turning rollover" of the vehicle.
In the first few years of my license, I naively thought that "the handling of four-wheeled unilateral suspension cars is very good".
So, my friend and I held a "Sichuan Qiuming Mountain Challenge". On the winding mountain road, my Jingyi X5 couldn't even see the taillights of the Corolla 1.6L CVT......
After a few years in the automotive industry, I gradually learned some of the tricks of car chassis tuning. It turns out that the actual handling performance of the four-wheel single suspension is not necessarily better than that of the torsion beam...... It turns out that even if it is a single suspension, it is necessary to distinguish the tuning mode.
So far, this Jingyi X5 has completely become a means of transportation.
In order to pursue the excitement of driving, I also specially bought a Citroen Senna, which is much easier to drive than Jingyi X5......
Chapter 7: Over the years, Jingyi X5 has saved a lot of money
Including Jingyi X5, many old domestic cheap cars from ten years ago have a strong advantage, that is, saving money!
The savings here are mainly in two aspects: first, the maintenance cost is very low, so low that joint venture owners can't imagine, and second, the fuel consumption is very low, almost comparable to some hybrid cars today.
In terms of maintenance, the 4A92 engine is very unpicky, and even cheap mineral engine oil for twenty or thirty yuan a liter can meet its needs. When I was in service, I changed the SN grade FUCHS engine oil. 10,000 kilometers of maintenance, the total price of oil filter does not exceed 400 yuan.
Even if your vehicle needs to be replaced, it can save you a lot of money.
In March, the generator of Jingyi X5 and my other second-hand Audi Q5 was damaged at the same time, and the engine assembly needed to be replaced. The price of the Audi Q5 generator given by the auto repair factory is 1700 yuan, while the engine of the Jingyi X5 only needs 380 yuan. In this comparison, the gap is indeed large.
In terms of fuel consumption, Jingyi X5 is quite fuel-efficient among similar models.
First, in the pure high-speed section, the fuel consumption of this car per 100 kilometers fluctuates between 5.5L and 6.5L.
Second, in urban sections, the fuel consumption of this car is 8.4L-9.0L per 100 kilometers in spring, autumn and winter, and 10.5L per 100 kilometers in summer.
According to comprehensive calculations, this car runs about 15,000 kilometers per year, and the fuel cost is only about 7,000 yuan.
Chapter 8: Large space and low configuration, when the tool cart is just right
Jingyi X5, an 80,000-level domestic SUV born ten years ago, is actually more like a "comfortable van" in my eyes.
It's small in size, but compared to the same year's Haval H6, Geely GX7 and Nissan Qashqai SUVs, the interior space can be described as "huge".
Judging from the external design, Jingyi X5 has a very typical "four wheels and four corners" design style. Within the limited body size, the wheelbase can be extended as much as possible to expand the cabin space in the car.
The wheelbase of 2690mm brings spacious riding space and storage space.
For example, when I adjust the front seat and enter the back row, I still have more than two fists of room in my legs. This kind of space performance, I think it is better than modern models such as Changan Qiyuan Q05 and Toyota Fenglanda.
In terms of storage, the trunk volume of Jingyi X5 is also good. For example, on weekdays, it can hold all my clutter, and when I go out, I can put two 20-inch suitcases, plus my Enduro mountain bike. Of course, if you fold down the rear seats, there will be more space in the cabin. At this time, it is no problem to carry the washing machine, or three or four people sitting cross-legged in the carriage and playing cards.
As for the configuration, this car basically has no configuration.
Two airbags in the front row, reversing image, ESP+ABS, constitute its safety configuration system, and in terms of entertainment and comfort system, manual air conditioning (no air outlet in the rear row), Bluetooth+USB+AUX connection, and small-size sunroof, can only be said to be in line with the 80,000-level price performance......
Of course, today, the configuration progress of 80,000-level domestic cars is also obvious. Many more than 80,000 domestic cars have a series of rich configurations such as automatic parking, Internet of Vehicles, one-key lifting of front and rear windows, and automatic zonal air conditioning. The progress made during this period can be seen with the naked eye, and it is also coveted by old independent car owners like me.
