In order to further standardize the order of the advertising market in the fields of people's livelihood such as medical care, medicine, and food, which are most reflected by the people, effectively protect the legitimate rights and interests of consumers, and promote the construction of a good consumption environment, the State Administration for Market Regulation recently issued a work plan to organize and carry out a special action on advertising supervision in the field of people's livelihood nationwide from April to November 2024.

One is

Maintain a high-pressure and strict crackdown on illegal acts of medical cosmetology advertising, strictly regulate the publication of medical cosmetology advertisements, and severely crack down on illegal acts such as publishing medical cosmetology advertisements without advertising review, creating appearance anxiety, and exaggerating the efficacy of medical cosmetology. Strictly investigate and deal with the conduct of platforms, live broadcast rooms, and beauty anchors and influencers publishing illegal medical beauty advertisements in live broadcast marketing.

Strictly investigate and deal with advertisements for "miracle doctors" and "miracle medicines", severely punish the disguised publication of advertisements for medical treatment, medicines, medical devices, and health foods in the form of health science, and strictly rectify illegal conduct such as impersonating experts or famous doctors in advertisements to carry out publicity, and publishing relevant advertisements without review.

Strengthen the supervision of food advertising, and strictly prevent the promotion of the efficacy of health food and the efficacy of ordinary food. Investigate and deal with food advertisements that are inconsistent with the facts or violate the requirements of relevant standards in accordance with the law.

Investigate and deal with false and illegal advertisements for myopia prevention and control products in accordance with the law, continue to rectify advertisements that confuse true and false myopia, and mislead consumers with expressions such as "rehabilitation", "recovery", "reduction of degree", "myopia cure", "myopia buster" and "prescription repair". Strictly handle false and illegal advertisements such as falsifying statistical data or scientific experiment data to publicize the effectiveness of myopia prevention and control.

Strengthen the supervision of advertisements for cosmetics, disinfection products and other daily chemical products, vigorously rectify illegal acts that explicitly or imply that cosmetics and disinfection products have medical effects in advertisements, and strictly investigate the marketing and hype of toothpaste products with gimmicks such as "repairing caries" and "anti-Helicobacter pylori".

Earnestly regulate all types of training advertisements, conscientiously implement the requirements of the central government's "double reduction" documents, continue to do a good job of cleaning up off-campus training advertisements, and lawfully crack down on illegal advertising acts such as creating anxiety about going on to higher education and impersonating "famous schools" and "famous teachers". Increase the extent of supervision and control of advertisements for vocational skills training, and strictly rectify advertising chaos such as "rapid evidence collection" and "package passing".
