A game was paralyzed
In 1998, at the Friendship Games held in the United States, Chinese gymnast Sang Lan was making final preparations. After a short run-up before the race, she jumped gracefully and flipped in the air, however, the expected smooth landing didn't happen. Sang Lan's head slammed into the ground, causing an uproar at the scene. Immediately, Sang Lan fell into a coma and was rushed to a nearby hospital. The doctor's diagnosis was shocking: Sang Lan's cervical spine was severely damaged, which could lead to lifelong paralysis.
This news made people sigh that such an excellent athlete had suffered such an unfortunate accident. However, whether there is a deeper cause behind the accident is clear to the parties involved. At that time, Sang Lan had not yet predicted his future fate and was still looking forward to returning to the national team with confidence. During her hospitalization, many people came to visit Sanglan, including her favorite star "Little Plum" Leonardo.
Even in the face of difficulties, Sang Lan still showed a warm smile, because her smile is always so bright, everyone is called "Smile Angel". After 10 months of treatment in the United States, Sang Lan finally returned to her home country. However, Sang Lan did not bow to fate. In her view, when God closes a door for you, a window always opens. Since she could no longer pursue gymnastics, she decided to make a career in other fields. In 2001, Sunland made a bold decision to go to university.
The idea didn't get her parents' support at first. They were worried that their daughter's physical condition might not be able to adjust to college life. However, Sang Lan, a girl who is constantly striving for self-improvement, is determined to rely on knowledge to prove her worth. A year later, she was finally accepted into the School of Journalism and Communication at Peking University, where she successfully completed her studies over the course of five years. In September 2002, Sunland officially joined Star TV and hosted the much-watched Olympic special program "Sunland 2008".
On April 28, 2013, Sunland's attorney filed a complaint in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York, suing Time Warner, USA Gymnastics Association and five other institutions and three individuals, with a claim of up to $1.8 billion. They also include her guardians in the United States, Liu Guosheng and Xie Xiaohong. In the 26-page English-language complaint, Ms. Sunlan stated that she was injured when someone moved the mat underneath when she landed, causing her to lose control and cause her to be disabled.
What is the status quo now?
Before the news of Sang Lan's pregnancy came, she almost disappeared from the public eye. After a period of retirement, she once again attracted attention. From injuries to cross-border lawsuits, there has always been a man who has silently supported her, and that is her agent Huang Jian.
Huang Jian is a former athlete, and according to rumors, he is worth a lot of money, and his property and assets may exceed 10 million.
