Since 2014, Buduo Village, Dahai Township, has begun to grow soft-seeded pomegranates on a large scale. Today, the slopes of the fields are covered with pomegranate trees. The cultivation of soft-seeded pomegranate has become a characteristic industry of the agricultural economic development of Buduo Village, driving the masses to continue to increase their income and generate income.
"My family planted 18 acres of soft-seeded pomegranates, most of the pomegranate trees this year are growing well, the flowers are blooming better than in previous years, and the fiery red pomegranate flowers indicate that this year is another bumper harvest year. Shi Zhengquan, a pomegranate grower in Buduo Village, said. Shi Zheng's family is the first to plant pomegranates, because of the early planting, good management, the yield has increased year by year, and life is as prosperous as pomegranate flowers, the sweeter it gets.
Buduo Village, Dahai Township, as a demonstration village for vigorously developing winter vegetables and tropical forest fruit industries, relies on local resource endowments to develop leading industries such as leeks, soft-seeded pomegranates, and citrus, driving more than 400 local households to increase their economic income. It is reported that 272 households in Buduo Village planted soft-seeded pomegranates this year, and it is expected to enter the picking period in early September.
