The 2024 Asia Wireless Power Conference held at the same time during the 2024 (Spring) Asia Charging Exhibition was a complete success, with a large number of industry insiders participating in the event, which made the conference gain a lot of attention. Wang Jiasheng, marketing manager of Nanxin's wireless charging product line, attended the conference and delivered a speech on "Embracing the New Trend of Wireless Charging Ecology - Introduction to Nanxin's Qi2 Solution", which described the review of the 10-year development history of wireless charging, the review and future prospects of the past history of wireless charging ecology, and the brief introduction of Nanxin's Qi2 solution.
Embracing the new trend of wireless charging ecology - Nanxin Qi2 solution introduction
In the past 10 years, the wireless charging industry has ushered in explosive growth, and shipments have reached an exponential increase. In 2010, WPC released the Qi 1.0 standard, which achieved a common standard for the wireless charging industry. In 2012, the first batch of wireless charging mobile phones were released, and then Samsung, Apple, Huawei, Xiaomi and other brands entered the game one after another. In 2019, Apple released magnetic wireless charging, and wireless charging ushered in a wave of magnetic development. In September 2023, Apple joined hands with WPC to bring Qi2, believing that Qi2 will bring new opportunities to the future.
In the past few years, in addition to the promotion of wireless charging brought by the addition of important mobile phone brands to the industry, industry standards, ecology and experience are important factors limiting the development of wireless charging. But there has also been great progress and tremendous development in the ecology. Before 2017, there were more car wireless charging and desktop charging; since 2017, wireless charging in addition to mobile phones has ushered in watches, headphones and other receiving devices, the penetration rate of automotive wireless charging has also increased significantly, multi-functional wireless charging, magnetic wireless charging treasure, etc. have been vigorously developed. The development of the Qi2 ecosystem will bring users a better wireless charging experience.
In addition to integrating digital MCU and external MOSFET driver, the SC9610-50W TX controller also has large digital redundancy and power redundancy, which can quickly realize the Qi2 wireless charging function for customers and provide good support.
The development process of Nanxin's first Qi2 wireless charging solution will be sampled in May 2023, and the design of the first demonstration module and the verification of the entire function will be completed in August. In January 2024, it passed the Qi2 certification and provided customers with a complete test report.
In addition to the TX controller solution, in March 2024, Nanxin launched a Qi2-specific power stage solution, which features a demodulation function in addition to integrating high-performance full-bridge MOS and drivers. It brings cost-effective and high-performance full-bridge analog front-end to solution customers, and provides flexible and diverse MCU choices for customers in the entire ecosystem.
Therefore, in 2024, Nanxin will achieve a matrix layout of three sets of QI2 TX solutions. In addition to the mass production of the TX controller and the launch of the Power stage, the TX converter launched in August is optimized for the Qi2 standard, in addition to the built-in MCU, full-bridge power and its drive circuit, it will also integrate enhanced demodulation, low-power Q value detection, and even built-in current detection and frequency switching functions.
