The Islamic State is the Boxer Rebellion in the Middle East

Russia and the extremist organization Islamic State are two of the world's most bizarre things. Now these two are pinched, which is really mixed.

There are a lot of Russian fans in the country, but there may be a lack of understanding of the Islamic State. In fact, to put it simply, the Islamic State (ISIS) is the equivalent of the Boxers in the Middle East. Their political spectrum, and the thoughts and actions they exhibited, are very similar to those of the Boxers.

The purpose of the Islamic State is to try to restore the glory of classical Islam and to establish a Muslim state in Greater Syria with the caliphate at its core. What is this caliphate? It is equivalent to the emperor of ancient China, a supreme existence that combines politics, religion, and the army.

According to the Qur'an, after the death of the Prophet Muhammad, he appointed an heir to continue to lead the Muslims in their conquest of the world. This person is called the caliph, and the biggest difference between this person and the Chinese emperor is that Islam is more religious. In ancient China, religion was only an embellishment of imperial power. The emperor symbolically indicated that the widow was ordered by heaven, that is, the meaning of human agency.

And then when the whole world is vying to be the agent of the heavens, the Europeans, who are not very sensible, when they look up at the starry sky, see through the sky. The sky is the cradle of science, so science and reason are used to beat their "agents" in the world back to the prototype.

It doesn't matter if this is true, the key is that after the Europeans broke through their ignorance and reformed their religion, they began to be far ahead in terms of social development. And it's a clearance far ahead, and then there is only one day after all. As a result, almost all of the world, with the exception of the primitive tribes of the rainforest, were Europeanized.

Since there has been Europeanization, there will inevitably be anti-Europeanization. The Islamic State and the Boxers are both good players. One wants to restore the caliphate, and the other wants to help clear the ocean. And what they want to do can be summed up as a "smash" word. Everything that is not of Islamic civilization is smashed.

The same is true of the Taliban, who were a smash hit in the past two years, and after they regained power, they began to go door-to-door to collect electronic products, guitars, violins and other Western musical instruments, suits and shirts and other Western clothing, all of which had to be cleaned up and destroyed. Then the woman is re-veiled, she is not allowed to go to school, and she is not allowed to show her head in public.

The Islamic State was just unlucky, hiding everywhere in Tibet. Once they are allowed to realize the dream of a caliphate in Greater Syria, the Middle East will have to go back to the Middle Ages overnight, which is called ultra-conservatism.

I have argued in an article before that the vast majority of countries in the world have never really made progress, and the progress of the vast majority of backward civilizations is based on the evolution of advanced civilizations. And then in the process of this evolution, there will be two opposing forces, one is progressivism and the other is conservatism. And the Islamic State and the Boxers both belong to the latter.

Imagine that if the Boxers had succeeded, the consequences would have been quite sci-fi. First of all, there will never be a foreigner on the land of China, basically one to kill one, and one pair to kill another. Then the exchange between Chinese and Western cultures will be cut off.

Then, the goods of the foreigners' strange and ingenious skills will not be available. Not to mention the current computers, mobile phones, cars, etc., even the infrastructure such as telephone poles and railways have been picked up by them. But all foreign goods, even if they are made by the Chinese themselves, imitate foreign styles, or the same thing has English letters. Or, whoever wears tighter clothes with narrow cuffs, contrary to the tradition of wide robes and open sleeves, will be on their destruction list. And it's the kind of justice on the spot, similar to the terrorist actions of the Islamic State.

Suppose that if the Boxers had succeeded that year, their ideas would have been upgraded to the will of the state and continued. There is no doubt that China will still maintain the original Qing Dynasty social style of more than 100 years ago. Men have braids, women wrap their feet, and a farming life of coarse tea and light rice.

And the Boxers failed because they had a philosophical flaw. Because the Boxers were extremely anti-foreign and wanted to smash all foreign goods, then naturally they could not lose face and take foreign guns and cannons, and then they could only use spears and broadswords to oppose the foreigners. So even at its peak, the scale of the claimed millions, in the end it was inactive. As soon as the movement failed, it was used as a scapegoat by the Qing court.

In this regard, the Islamic State and its ilk should be wiser, although they are anti-foreign, but they are not anti-foreign guns and artillery. No, rushed to the house of the Russian powers. If I'm not mistaken, there should be a lot of domestic fans of ISIS, just like Hamas fans a while ago. Anyway, as long as they are anti-American and anti-Western, their popularity at home will not be too bad. Then those who fan Hamas and ISIS must also fan Russia, and now that the two sides are fighting, there is indeed an indescribable embarrassment.

Of course, any attack on civilians is condemnable from a humanitarian point of view. Although I don't have a good impression of Russia, the terrorism of the Islamic State is indeed a heinous crime. However, I don't need to write a special article to scold them, I think the primary responsibility of every country is to control its own extremist forces and not let the "Boxers" come out and cause trouble.

Although China has undergone 40 years of modernization, there have been many Boxer Rebellion incidents in recent years. That kind of philosophical stubbornness is still perpetuated today. For example, making a fuss about KFC with an iPhone, driving a Toyota to work and watching anti-Japanese dramas after work, seeing the cap of a mineral water bottle can be associated with the Japanese flag, and encountering Toshiba's CT in the hospital, and lying down honestly and straight.

The Islamic State is the Boxer Rebellion in the Middle East

Recently, Apple's largest directly-operated store in Asia opened in Jing'an District, Shanghai, and an aunt came to smash the field. scolded the customers in line for admiring foreign flattery, saying that we have our own Huawei.

It's really joyful, even if I change my surname to "Ren", I'm never embarrassed to say that Huawei is my own. This is actually a typical "Boxer syndrome", but it can't grasp the essence of the Boxer Rebellion.

The Boxers never focused on admonishment, but were all directly involved. And if it were true by the standards of a hundred years ago, just by the peaked cap on Auntie's head, the boxers would come to take her head. You are a woman, don't you honestly wrap your feet at home, help the old man find a concubine, but go to the street to make a fuss?

Therefore, they are all beneficiaries of progress, and they are all affected by the benefits brought by the evolution of foreign civilizations, as well as the great improvement of the quality of life and the concept of life, so why bother to wrap their brains tightly with footwraps?
