The book of "Imperial Theme Cotton Map" was inherited by Fang Guan in the Qing Dynasty. The complete set consists of two volumes, depicting the process from cotton planting to weaving and dyeing into cloth, in order: cloth seeding, irrigation, ploughing, picking, cotton picking, refining and drying, collecting and selling, rolling cores, playing flowers, restraints, spinning, elegiac warp, cloth pulp, on the machine, weaving, and dyeing, each picture is equipped with text descriptions and Qianlong inscription poems. This is a picture book of the Qianlong period of the Qing Dynasty and is now in the National Palace Museum in Taipei.
In the thirtieth year of Qianlong in the Qing Dynasty (1765), Fang Guancheng, the governor of Zhili, presided over the drawing of this set of maps against the background of the cotton spinning industry of the Wang manor of the Qianlong Emperor passing through Baoding Guanshishan. He listed this drawing, framed it, and dedicated it to Emperor Qianlong. Emperor Qianlong praised the "Cotton Map", so he wrote seven quatrains for each picture, a total of 16 poems, and issued an edict to promulgate the atlas to the world. Therefore, "Cotton Map" is also known as "Royal Theme Cotton Map". In July of the same year, the "Cotton Map", including Qianlong's inscription poem, was engraved on twenty end stones.
