The socket is a long structure, with a British three-pin socket on the front and a 2C1A fast charging interface on the side.
The socket is equipped with a 1.5 m long power cord and a fuse inside the UK plug for overcurrent protection. There is also a surge protection circuit inside the socket, and an indicator light on the side is used to indicate the surge protection function. The box continues the same design as the 70W 2A2C 6-in-1 GaN fast charging socket CH-459, and the front is printed with the Mcdodo brand, product appearance, English name and selling point logo.

The package contains a 70W 4-in-1 GaN fast charging socket, instruction manual and warranty card. The plug pins of the product are protected by a plastic shell, and the plastic film of the outer body is scratch-resistant.
The 70W 4-in-1 gallium nitride fast charging socket also comes with a British-sized pin power cord, and the fuselage is also a rectangular shape, but the longitudinal design adopted can be said to have many matching elements, but it also has its own characteristics.
The surface of the power cord plug is frosted to facilitate user plugging and unplugging, and the top surface is designed with the word FUSED.

After reading the unboxing and testing of the gallium nitride fast charging socket of McDuoduo, let's disassemble it and take a look at the internal design and materials.
First, remove the non-slip rubber pad on the bottom of the socket and set the screws on the inside.
Unscrew the set screws and remove the back cover of the receptacle. Inside the socket is the socket module and the fast charging module, and the partition structure is adopted inside the shell.
The power inlet and socket modules are secured by screws.
Unscrew the set screws and proceed with the disassembly.
Remove the socket module and PCBA module from the inside of the socket housing.
The fast charging module is connected to the socket module by wire welding.

The back of the PCBA module is welded with a rectifier bridge, a gallium nitride main control chip, a gallium nitride switch tube, two SMD Y capacitors and a feedback optocoupler, and a synchronous rectifier controller and a synchronous rectifier tube.
Solder the step-down plate, and weld two magnetic ring inductors on the back of the step-down board.
Through the observation of the PCBA module, it is found that the gallium nitride fast charging socket adopts a QR flyback architecture, synchronous rectification, and the fixed voltage output is powered by the step-down output board. The step-down board realizes the fast charging output of two USB-C ports and USB-A ports through two independent synchronous step-down circuits. The main control chip adopts the MK2697A of Maoruixin, which is a QR PWM controller optimized for PD/fast charging applications. Its wide VCC operating voltage range (9V-90V) allows it to cover the PD/PPS output range from 3.3V to 23V without the need for additional windings or linear step-down circuitry.
MK2697 is designed for energy efficiency requirements, and adopts adaptive multi-mode due to the multiple output voltages of PD/fast charging. It is adjusted to work in DCM/QR under different loads and different outputs. At light loads, it will work in burst mode to improve efficiency.
MK2697A provides comprehensive protection functions, including output OVP, OPP, VCC OVP, BROWN-IN/OUT, secondary SR short circuit protection, PIN pin OPEN/SHORT protection, etc.

USB-C2 and USB-A port protocol chips are from Yingjixin, model IP2726, which is a very widely used protocol chip. The synchronous rectification buck controller for the step-down output is from Yingjixin, the model is IP6550, which is a synchronous step-down controller that supports 36V input, with a built-in NMOS tube drive and two external MOS transistors for efficient synchronous rectification and step-down. The IP6550 regulates the output voltage via the feedback pin. The switching frequency is 135KHz, the input terminal withstand voltage is 48V, and the built-in perfect protection function is complete. Yingjixin IP6550 adopts a 3*3mm QFN16 package, which can realize the simplified synchronous step-down conversion circuit design.
The IP6550 can be used in car chargers, multi-port adapters, smart sockets, USB-C socket strips, and dashcam applications.
