For large-capacity power banks, increasing the charging and discharging power can shorten the self-charging time of the power bank on the one hand, and on the other hand, it can also charge laptops and fast charge Android mobile phones, greatly expanding the use scenarios of the power bank and improving the experience of using the power bank. Zhirong Technology has launched a highly integrated fast-charging mobile power supply SOC chip SW6308 for high-power mobile power supply, which is a synchronous buck-boost architecture and supports 45W power input and output.
Zhirong Technology SW6308 integrates a bidirectional synchronous buck-boost controller, an internal VBUS terminal half-bridge, and two external switches at the battery end to form a half-bridge to achieve synchronous buck-boost voltage conversion. The chip also integrates a variety of fast charging functions including UFCS fusion fast charging, and also integrates fuel gauge, digital tube driver and protection functions inside the chip, which can realize the design of single-chip fast charging mobile power supply.
The charging head network got a fast charging mobile power DEMO based on SW6308 synchronous buck-boost chip, with 45W charging and discharging power, and equipped with Qi2 wireless charging module, Qi2 wireless charging power up to 15W, wired and wireless charging are fully satisfied. Zhirong SW6308Qi2 wireless charging mobile power bank DEMO appearance
Based on the Zhirong SW6308 SOC mobile power solution, the DEMO is equipped with 2C1A three USB interfaces, and one of the highlights of the solution is that it can be configured with the mainstream Qi2 wireless charging module on the market, which can perfectly match the Qi2 wireless charging mode, providing a new choice for the design of Qi2 magnetic wireless charging mobile power supply.
The four DEMO boards are all designed based on the Zhirong SW6308 SOC mobile power solution, and the devices are all single-sided layout.
However, the Qi2 wireless charging module solutions configured on the four DEMO boards are different, which also reflects the good adaptability of the Zhirong SW6308 SOC mobile power supply solution. One of the Qi2 wireless charging module solutions is NuVolta's NU222.
The second Qi2 wireless charging module solution is CVS Jinxin Micro's CV222.
The third Qi2 wireless charging module solution is MAXiC's MT581X.
The fourth Qi2 wireless charging module solution is Lingtong GPM32FD0338B.
The PCB board is equipped with dual USB-C ports, which supports fast charging input and output of any port. At the same time, the left side is reserved for Lightning interface socket, digital tube and communication terminal, which can realize more functions and facilitate customer debugging.
The measured length of the PCB is 139.65mm.
The width is 45.88mm.
The maximum thickness at the Qi2 wireless charging module is 9.65mm.
In addition, the weight of the entire DEMO was measured to be about 61g.
Power on the DEMO, and use the ChargerLAB POWER-Z KM003C to test that the USB-C port supports UFCS, FCP, SCP, AFC, QC3+/4+, SFCP, PE2.0, PD3.0, PPS, DCP, SAM 2A, and Apple 2.4A charging protocols.

Zhirong SW6308 Qi2 wireless charging power bank DEMO analysis
The core component of this reference design is from Zhirong Technology, model SW6308, which is a high-performance synchronous buck-boost mobile power bank SOC chip that supports USB-C, USB-A and Lightning interfaces, with an input voltage range of 4V to 26V, and supports 2-6 batteries in series applications, providing up to 45W input and output, and supporting dual USB-C ports and fast charging input and output at any port.
Zhirong Technology SW6308 has a wide range of fast charging protocol support, through the UFCS fusion fast charging standard, support PD, SCP, FCP, AFC, QC, SFCP and other mainstream fast charging protocols on the market, to ensure excellent compatibility and charging efficiency. Two internal switches and two external switches can form a bidirectional synchronous buck-boost topology, simplifying the periphery to provide a more cost-effective choice.
SW6308 also comes with a wireless charging mode, which supports high-voltage power supply for wireless charging and high-voltage charging and discharging in wireless charging mode. In addition, it supports I2C voltage regulation for wireless charging, saves DCDC modules, simplifies design and reduces costs, and can perfectly adapt to the mainstream Qi2 wireless charging modules on the market to meet the design needs of various magnetic wireless charging mobile power supply products on the market.
The SW6308 has very low standby power consumption (50μA) and has complete protection functions, including input and output over-voltage protection, input over-current short-circuit protection, battery under-voltage and over-voltage protection, and can also be connected to an external NTC for over-temperature protection, chip over-temperature protection and charging safety timer. It supports 3-5 LED power display and 188 digital tube display, adopts QFN7*7-60 package, and the peripheral components are simplified.
