"After contracting HPV, my boyfriend said that the hotel towels were not clean. ”

Recently, the news of rapper Man Shuke's private life has caused a lot of discussion.

In response to his ex-girlfriend's accusation that he was "infected with high-risk HPV by Man Shuke", Man Shuke responded through the studio, posted materials such as "negative HPV test report" to refute it, and said that he had entrusted a lawyer to file a lawsuit against him. In the comment area of the statement, many netizens questioned:

"The test time is much longer than half a year ago, is there any reference value?"

"There are particularly many cases of 'false negative' HPV testing in men, and the validity of the report is questionable. ”

"After contracting HPV, my boyfriend said that the hotel towels were not clean. ”

As of press time, the truth of the incident has not yet been clarified, but it has once again triggered public discussion about HPV infection and treatment.

In the first issue of "A Little Bit of Health Every Week", we will focus on the topic of HPV, and we started a conversation with two HPV "witnesses" to talk about their stories.

There is no "cure" for HPV,

The key is to boost immunity.

"If you've had sex, let's get it checked. ”

25-year-old Koji listened to the advice of a friend who was infected with HPV and made an appointment for a test.

On a working day, when she received a call from the physical examination department of the hospital in the company corridor, her brain was blank, and she only remembered the keywords such as "HPV", "not in good condition", "go to the hospital early" and so on.

"I'm not going to be finished. This was Xiao Si's first feeling.

At first, I was worried that my life would be short. Later, I was lonely, ashamed of being sick, and worried that others would look at me with colored glasses. I don't dare to tell my family, I don't dare to tell my friends...... In this way, she went to the hospital alone to do a diagnostic test for HPV.

"After contracting HPV, my boyfriend said that the hotel towels were not clean. ”

After receiving the news from the physical examination center, Xiao Si went to do the first examination, and the picture was provided by the interviewee.

After undergoing HPV testing, TCT (liquid-based thin-layer cell testing), colposcopy and other examinations, Xiao Si was confirmed to be infected with the high-risk medium-risk HPV16, as well as several other low-risk HPV viruses.

Several dangerous sexual behaviors that happened when I was dating my ex-boyfriend suddenly came to my mind. did not refuse the other party's request to "not wear a condom" when she was in love, which is likely to become a dangerous foreshadowing of her HPV infection.

"At that time, I was young and did not receive adequate sex education. If I had experienced something like this now, I would have decisively refused. Xiao Si said with some annoyance.

Later, she contacted her ex-boyfriend, and the other party's response was not unexpected: emphasizing that she was "clean and self-conscious", and the source of infection could never be him.

Because of the high-risk HPV16 infection, the doctor recommended surgery for treatment. But during the consultation, the doctor's relatively tough attitude made her feel uncomfortable, and with the mentality of "waiting for a miracle", Xiao Si changed to another hospital for treatment. The doctor here gave the advice that "it is better not to have surgery and treat conservatively if you have never been pregnant".

According to the Health Times, there is currently a lack of drugs that are definitively effective against HPV infection, and the commonly used drugs are mainly to improve immunity or local microenvironment, rather than direct antiviral. Therefore, even if the HPV test is positive, no specific treatment is usually needed in the absence of precancerous lesions.

For most people, the elimination of HPV is largely dependent on immunity. Relevant studies have shown that usually within 1~2 years, 90% of HPV will be eliminated by the human immune system, and a small number of persistent high-risk HPV infections may develop into precancerous lesions, and if not treated in time, there is a chance to evolve into cervical cancer.

Improving immunity and regular check-ups have become the main things in the treatment of HPV.

"After contracting HPV, my boyfriend said that the hotel towels were not clean. ”

During the treatment, Xiao Si has done a lot of tests, large and small, and the pictures are provided by the interviewee.

When HPV was diagnosed, Xiao Si was in a relationship. The boyfriend who learned the news behaved very calmly and did not ask too much, so he directly accompanied her to the hospital for a reexamination. This greatly alleviated Xiao Si's fear of going into the gynecological examination alone.

Her boyfriend also does exercises with Xiao Si on weekdays, eats regularly, and adjusts her work and rest, which gives her a lot of strength during the treatment.

Fortunately, after a year and a half of observation and regular re-examination, Xiaosi's HPV test turned negative one after another, and finally dropped this "time bomb".

Now Koji has become more honest than before, and he is more willing to speak up about this HPV experience - "I am fortunate that this infection has no particularly obvious characteristics, only odor and itching, and it does not have much impact on daily life. But I still want to say that HPV infection is not a sexually transmitted disease, and it is not exclusive to girls. There is an 80%-90% chance that a person will be infected with HPV 1-2 times in their lifetime. It is possible to be infected as long as you have sex, even if it is normal sex. Therefore, it is important for both boys and girls to pay attention to physical hygiene and hygiene. ”

Don't blame yourself for the other person's "sexual needs",

Protecting yourself is the most important thing.

Ah Xin discovered that roommate A was infected with low-risk HPV by accident.

The first thing that caught the attention of the dormitory was the warts on roommate A's feet. But everyone, including A, thought it was a "corn". After a while, it was not cured, and it was discovered that she was infected with HPV.

Despite being infected with a low-risk type, Ah Xin and her roommates agreed that she could have escaped the catastrophe.

In her senior year, roommate A finally made an appointment for the HPV 9-valent vaccine, and it was during that time that she and classmate B confirmed their relationship.

Faced with her boyfriend's request to have sex with her, roommate A was in distress for a while.

"After contracting HPV, my boyfriend said that the hotel towels were not clean. ”

A not-so-cold piece of knowledge is that people who receive the HPV vaccine before their first sexual activity can get better vaccine protection. In other words, for roommate A, now is the best time to get vaccinated.

When roommate A shared the "dilemma" she encountered with her roommates, everyone who was also a girl advised her to slow down first, and it was not too late to wait until she received the 9-valent vaccine before thinking about sex.

However, the story never goes as expected. A month later, Ah Xin learned that roommate A had tested positive for HPV.

Because it is a low-risk HPV, roommate A does not think that he was infected because of his boyfriend, and convinces himself with the statement that "maybe the hotel towel is not clean".

However, in Ah Xin's view, although sexual contact is not directly linked to the low-risk type, "having sex for the first time without receiving the 9-valent vaccine" itself provides a breeding ground for HPV infection.

This incident is worth a warning.

About one-third of the world's men over the age of 15 are infected with at least one type of HPV and one in five are infected with one or more high-risk or carcinogenic HPVs, according to a new study by The Lancet Global Health.

On more than one occasion, there have been discussions on the Internet about "men transmitting HPV to their female partners", and we interviewed Professor He Shanyang, director of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology and Gynecology of Guangdong Provincial People's Hospital, on a topic of widespread concern.

Q: Is it true that it is difficult for men to be diagnosed with infection through HPV testing, and that test results are easy to appear "false negative"?

A: It can be understood in this way. Because the female genital tract is deep and narrow, it is difficult to clean it thoroughly, while in men, on the contrary, it can be cleaned up by careful cleaning during bathing, so it is not so easy for carriers to pick up infected cells when they are tested.

Q: Before dating, how can I tell if the other person may be a carrier of HPV?

A: At present, sex is still the main route of transmission of high-risk HPV.

From the appearance, you can observe whether the other person has genital warts. For example, if there are small strips of flesh on the neck that look like enoki mushrooms, this may be filamentous warts, whether there are small hard pimples like pimples on the hands, and whether there are small hard black spots on the soles of the feet, which may be plantar warts.

If the appearance cannot be distinguished, you can determine whether the other party is a "high-risk man" in the questioning. As long as one of the three conditions of penile cancer patients, sexual life has been unclean, and sexual partners of people with HPV infection are met, they can be suspected of being "high-risk men".

Q: How do you distinguish between low-risk and high-risk types?

A: The main difference is whether it will cause cancer. Infection with low-risk HPV mainly causes skin infections such as genital warts, but this is relatively limited, and patients can slowly turn negative by improving their own immunity.

Even if you are infected with the high-risk type, you don't need to panic too much, as long as you improve your own immunity, you don't have to worry too much about regular screening. However, if you continue to be infected with high-risk HPV for 6 to 12 months, you should be aware because it may cause cancer.

Q: What is the most effective way to prevent HPV (cervical cancer)?

A: Get vaccinated against HPV before having sex for the first time, and try to avoid unclean sex. As long as you have had sex, you can be infected with HPV, but you should not treat sex as a "flood beast". In fact, as long as you manage your personal hygiene and take precautions, you don't have to be too afraid.

Finally, we would like to say: whether you are a woman or a man, you should get the HPV vaccine in time to protect yourself and your partner. Also, love love must stick to the use of condoms.
