1. Choose the right variety
If you want to plant it in the semi-shade, you can avoid the sun in the summer afternoon, and you can plant a large-flowered hydrangea.
If you want to raise heat- and light-resistant hydrangeas, you can choose conical hydrangeas or wood hydrangeas from morning to night.
Another point to note is that if it is in Guangdong, Guangxi, and other areas where there is no continuous low temperature in winter, it is necessary to choose some hydrangea varieties that do not need vernalization and have good heat resistance.
The large-flowered hydrangea varieties that are more suitable for Guangdong include the common Endless Summer, Endless Summer Bride, Flower Temari, Aisha, Sabrina, Leon, Mona Lisa, etc., as well as the classic Magic Series of hydrangea varieties, and others such as cocktails, elves, honey and kaleidoscopes, etc., are all large-flowered hydrangea varieties suitable for planting in Liangguang and Fujian.

2. Freshly received potted plants to slow down seedlings and repot
For potted hydrangeas purchased online, whether it is a small seedling or a relatively large potted seedling, it is necessary to slow the seedling first, that is, put it in a position that is ventilated and light-transmitting, and has a little soft light, and the potting soil feels particularly dry, and then water it thoroughly.
After about 3~5 days, I found that its leaves have been stunned, the leaves are erect, and the state of the plant is relatively good.
Before repotting, it should be provided with loose, breathable and well-drained nutrient soil, and before repotting, its root system should be properly combed.
You can move the roots on the surface of the soil a little, but don't make it too hard, just scratch the roots on the surface of the soil a little.

3. Potting soil selection

If the potting soil dries too slowly, you can change to a pot that is a little larger than the original pot.
Try to choose a better quality nutrient soil for the soil, the soil is loose and breathable, and the difficulty of raising flowers will be reduced a lot.
When changing pots, you can lift the plants a little, fill the soil while shaking the pot, so that the soil around the root system is filled, and then you need to water the potting soil slowly and repeatedly to ensure that it is completely watered and the roots and soil are completely fitted.
If you are planting hydrangea seedlings, the original soil surface and the new soil surface must be flush and not buried too deeply, otherwise the bottom leaves will rot and easily lead to rhizome rot.

4. Sunlight
Many people say that hydrangea is very shade-tolerant and should be kept in a semi-shady environment, but in fact, if you want to make hydrangea grow stronger and bloom more flowers, you still need to bask in the sun.

5. Flooding
Hydrangea is particularly fond of water, as long as it recovers its growth and the sun is more abundant, it needs to be watered frequently, especially during the flowering period, the potting soil dries up very quickly, and the potting soil should be watered in time when it dries, otherwise the flowers and leaves will wilt.
Only in winter when the temperature is low should the water be controlled slightly, and the soil must not be constantly dry in other seasons.
Although it likes water, it is also afraid of standing water, so do not plant it in low-lying places, and the soil should not be constantly moist or waterlogged, otherwise it will rot its roots.
6. Fertilizer
For hydrangeas that are well restored, when changing pots for the first time, you can bury some slow-release fertilizer around the potting soil, and you can also mix some slow-release fertilizer in the soil, which is to ensure that every subsequent watering can release a little fertility every day, so that it can resume growth as soon as possible.
About a week later, you can supplement it with water-soluble fertilizer for the first time, and the concentration of fertilizer for the first time should be lower, such as the common Hua Duoduo No. 1 Hua Duoduo No. 2, you can give 3000 times, that is, one milliliter (gram) of fertilizer, you need to mix 3000 ml of water, pour it directly into the pot soil, and water it when the pot soil is slightly dry.
After that, the fertilizer is supplemented every week or two, and the normal fertilizer concentration is gradually restored.
The leaves of hydrangea are easy to turn yellow in spring, especially the new leaves, the old leaves are still green, the new leaves are yellow, and the veins are still green, that is, there is a lack of iron.
This kind of iron deficiency yellow leaf needs to be supplemented with ferrous sulfate first, which can be sprayed and irrigated with roots, or replaced by boiling iron or alum fertilizer water, and can also be supplemented every other month.
7. Temperature
If the potted hydrangea you just bought at home, if the minimum outdoor temperature is above 5 degrees, then you can plant it completely. It is also possible to move the potted hydrangea outdoors.
Of course, it is necessary to avoid the cold spring, and if the temperature will still drop, then wait for the temperature to stabilize before moving outside.
When the temperature is between 20~30 degrees, the hydrangea grows very fast, and the roots and new shoots will continue to emerge.
If it is a large-flowered hydrangea planted and maintained in the ground, the plant grows strong enough, and it is properly protected in winter, such as covering soil and sheltering from the wind, they can tolerate a low temperature of more than minus 10 degrees at the minimum, and if it is not so strong, it can also tolerate a short low temperature of minus 7~8 degrees.
