This year is the 26th anniversary of the establishment of the Zhou Enlai and Deng Yingchao Memorial Hall, and during the Qingming holiday, the peak of passenger flow here, with nearly 10,000 tourists from all over the country coming here every day to feel the life of the two great men fighting side by side for the revolutionary cause.
In the team of docents, the reporter met 62-year-old Wang Xin, who was one of the first docents at the beginning of the establishment of the Zhou Deng Memorial Hall. Recalling the scene when the museum opened 26 years ago, she still remembers it vividly.
Over the past 26 years, the popularity of the Zhou Deng Memorial Hall has not decreased, and it has received more than 28 million visitors. Behind the briefcase used by Premier Zhou during his visit, the cloth shoes he wore in the hospital when he was seriously ill, and behind each treasured cultural relic, there is a simple and touching story, which also touches audiences everywhere.
In 2018, at the symposium to commemorate the 120th anniversary of Comrade Zhou Enlai's birth, General Secretary Xi Jinping summed up Comrade Zhou Enlai's noble spirit with the "six outstanding models" of "not forgetting the original intention, sticking to the faith, being loyal to the party, safeguarding the overall situation, loving the people, being diligent in serving the people, self-revolution, eternal struggle, courage to take responsibility, dedication, strict self-discipline, honesty and integrity". Focusing on these six aspects, the Zhou Deng Memorial Hall has reorganized tens of thousands of precious exhibits and compiled an 80,000-word biography of the great man.
It is under the influence of such a red spirit that some former young audiences also took the initiative to join the volunteer interpretation team. Wang Ning, a sophomore this year, visited the Zhou Deng Memorial Hall for the first time when she was 10 years old, and Premier Zhou's "My Cultivation Principles" was deeply imprinted in her heart.
In order to tell the red story more vividly and inherit the spirit of the great man, during this year's Qingming holiday, the Zhou Deng Memorial Hall also cooperated with the Tianjin Song and Dance Theater for the first time to launch a large-scale real-life immersive performance with the West Flower Hall as the stage. With dance and on-site explanation, the story of 73 workers of Tianjin Rainbow Garment Factory sewing silk jackets for Deng Yingchao was reproduced. The first exhibition was launched, and the online and offline audience exceeded 10,000.
