On the evening of April 5, the original drama "Spring Dawn at Su Causeway" was staged at the National Theatre Theater. This excellent play, written by Tian Qinxin and Zhang Kunpeng, directed by Tian Qinxin and Gao Leilei, and starring Xin Baiqing, an outstanding actor of the National Theatre of China, presents the audience with a sentient, righteous, talented, interesting, and unique image of Su Dongpo.
What is different from the past is that on the same day, "Spring Dawn at Su Causeway" also opened the "second scene", and for the first time, the six-city linkage was launched in real time. Theater audiences in Shanghai, Chengdu, Nanjing, Shenzhen, Hangzhou, and Wuzhen have been able to watch at authorized theaters in various places and watch them simultaneously with Beijing.
From Sichuan Renyi's drama "Su Dongpo", to the musical "Su Dongpo", the modern dance poetry drama "Poetry Memories of Dongpo", to the Peking Opera "A Rain of Smoke" and the Sichuan Opera "Dream Back to Dongpo", in recent years, works with Su Dongpo as the theme on the stage have continued to emerge, showing the images of Su Dongpo from different angles, so that Dongpo culture continues to enter people's field of vision.
"Spring Dawn at Su Causeway" opens the "second scene"
As an invited play of the 18th China Theatre Festival, "Spring Dawn at Su Causeway" will be staged at the Hangzhou Grand Theatre in November 2023 and won the "Outstanding Repertoire Award". After the Spring Festival this year, the crew gathered in Beijing to actively revise and polish. On March 4, a new round of performances was launched, and more than one million tickets were sold within one hour of ticket opening, and 2 million tickets were sold on the first day.
At the curtain call of the premiere in Hangzhou last year, the audience shouted: "National Tour!" In response to the enthusiasm of the audience, the drama party also creatively launched a six-city linkage real-time synchronous broadcast. On the evening of April 5, many audiences came to the Chengdu High-tech China Performance Grand Theater, and the tickets for the public welfare performance had already been sold out. The film and television means of "multi-camera, multi-scene, and multi-angle" realize the real-time and realistic reproduction of stage art in the second scene, so that the audience thousands of miles away also feel as if they are in the scene, and fully feel the artistic charm conveyed by the actors on the stage with a smile and a smile.
"Spring Dawn at Su Causeway" is another masterpiece of historical themes directed by Tian Qinxin, president of the National Theatre of China, after "Green Snake", "Beijing Fayuan Temple" and "Listening to Hongyi". The play adopts a non-linear narrative structure, and Yizhuang also harmonizes with the life experiences of Su Dongpo, a famous scholar in the Northern Song Dynasty, especially the experience of serving in Hangzhou twice, and unfolds the relationship between Su Dongpo and his family, colleagues, teachers, bosses, people and Hangzhou around the two choices of birth and accession.
Visually, the play takes Song Yun as the keynote, innovatively uses landscape painting images, and creates a stage space that is plausible, plausible, real and illusory, and majestic, showing the atmosphere and charm of the "Song Dynasty" in the heyday of traditional Chinese culture.
This is also the sixth time that actor Xin Baiqing has cooperated with director Tian Qinxin. Interpreting the image of a literati again, Xin Baiqing said bluntly: "Su Shi is the character I want to play the most after Li Bai and Wang Yangming." The stage continues to set off "Dongpo fever"
Speaking of Su Dongpo, everyone must be familiar with him, he is a great writer of the Northern Song Dynasty, and his poems are famous all over the world. In recent years, the "Dongpo fever" has continued to endure, and literary and artistic works with the theme of Su Dongpo have been continuously produced. Through combing, the reporter found that with the emergence of a large number of stage works with the theme of Su Dongpo, such as dramas, dance dramas, Peking operas, Sichuan operas, musicals, etc., it has brought multiple artistic experiences to the audience.

As one of the earliest drama groups in China, Sichuan Renyi has created and performed with the theme of Su Dongpo many times. In 2017, Sichuan Renyi created a large-scale drama "Su Dongpo", which was written from the Wutai poetry case and traced Su Dongpo's life experience from the age of 44 to his death at the age of 64. The play breaks through the original dramatic framework on the stage, creatively integrates the Sichuan opera composition of "gang" and "drummer", and completes a breakthrough and transcendence in the time and space of the text, the integration of dramatic traditions, the uniqueness of character creation and the regional cultural characteristics of the drama itself. In 2022, on this basis, a resident performance of the cultural tourism drama "Su Dongpo" will be created, and a total of more than 140 performances have been performed so far.

In 2024, Sichuan Renyi's large-scale original drama "Su Mu" will premiere at Beijing Tianqiao Performing Arts Center on April 27 and 28. The play is directed by the national first-class director Zha Lifang, written by the national first-class screenwriter Chen Lili, and starring the famous performing artist and national first-class actor Dong Fan.
It is worth mentioning that in addition to getting a glimpse of Mrs. Cheng's little-known story through "Su Mu", the audience can also witness the "Three Sus" - Su Xun, Su Shi, and Su Zhe gather on the drama stage as "supporting roles".

Also in April this year, the musical "Su Dongpo" will also be staged at the Haikou Oriental Global Grand Theater, thus kicking off the 2024 tour of the play. In the 110-minute interpretation of the musical "Su Dongpo", 18 musical works are intertwined, selectively reproducing the important experiences and events of Su Dongpo's legendary life, showing Su Shi's broad mind, emotions and pattern.
Since its premiere in Shanghai in July 2023, the modern dance poetry drama "Poetry Remembering Dongpo" has been performed in Hangzhou, Beijing, Chengdu and Xi'an. "Poetry Memories of Dongpo" is produced by China Oriental Performing Arts Group Co., Ltd. and the Propaganda Department of the Meishan Municipal Committee of the Communist Party of China, the play does not directly lay out Su Dongpo's life and circumstances, nor does it directly stand on the stage in the way of "people in the play", but in the aesthetic form of contemporary theater, with the deep integration of opera, Tai Chi and other ethnic vocabulary of modern dance as the main body, with guqin music and modern music dialogue, and with the help of poetry, calligraphy, painting, seal carving and other stage art techniques of multiple visual effects, showing the poet Su Dongpo's soul, love, Worry and nostalgia.

In addition, the folk dance drama "Dongpo Hainan" starts with the boat journey on Dongpo and ends with the departure from Qiongbei, and through the five acts of "Weng Qi Southern Wilderness", "Li Han Brothers", "Bright Moon of the Moon", "Tianya School" and "Hongxue Big Dream", the great writer Su Dongpo's years of residence in Hainan are reproduced.
Peking Opera "A Rain of Smoke" thinks of the three nights when Su Dongpo's "Wutai Poetry Case" was demoted to Huangzhou, these three nights, there was wine, poetry, friends, and unexpected encounters.
The musical poetry drama "The Feast of Life" poetically tells the life legend of Su Dongpo through the live performance of more than 20 poems and more than 20 tracks.
The new historical Sichuan opera "Dream Back to Dongpo" uses the dramatic structure of scattered culture and the way to break the clues of time and space, telling the story of Su Dongpo, who is old and twilight, traces the story of his past life in his dream on a stormy night in Changzhou.
