According to the latest news released by the global network, the live-fire exercise in the waters off Kinmen, which was originally scheduled to start on 2 April, has been suspended by the Taiwan military. According to the Taiwan military, due to the influence of heavy foggy weather, it is impossible to distinguish targets at sea, and in order to prevent accidents, the Taiwan military has changed the sea exercise to a land exercise. This ironic reason is obviously untenable, and in light of the recent series of military developments on both sides of the strait, it is not difficult to find that the Taiwan military is still afraid of the PLA in its bones, and the DPP authorities do not dare to rashly launch the "first strike."
It can be said that for the sake of this live-fire exercise, Taiwan's Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) authorities and the green camp media began to build momentum very early. As early as March, when the Chinese mainland coast guard was stepping up law enforcement in the waters off Kinmen, the Taiwan side made a high-profile official announcement of the exercise, not only detailing the time and location of the exercise, but also threatening to set up a "no-sail zone." Speaking of the geographical location of Shiyu, it is only 4 kilometers away from Xiamen, Fujian, and the high-rise buildings of Xiamen can be seen on Shiyu Island. If the Taiwan military carries out a live-ammunition shelling at Shiyu Island, with a range of several tens of kilometers from ordinary artillery, as long as there is a slight deviation in the middle, the shells may hit Xiamen, causing damage to buildings and casualties, and this is equivalent to the Taiwan military really carrying out the "first strike" on the mainland. On 30 March, a number of media on the island reported a strange news: A drone from the mainland suddenly appeared in the sky over the Taiwan military garrison camp on Kinmen and other islands of the Taiwan army. On the premise of no warning, this drone suddenly appeared in the sky above the Taiwanese military camp on Taiwan's Erdan Island, which immediately caused panic. According to the footage released by the media, the Taiwanese soldiers at the scene realized it afterwards and fled in all directions after discovering the drone.
