Many people do not know how often the fire extinguisher is overhauled according to the state, and they are worried that if the overhaul is not timely, they will encounter trouble in use.
According to the announcement issued by the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development, the General Code for Fire Protection Facilities No. 116 of 2022 (GB55036-2022) is a national mandatory standard, and all provisions must be strictly implemented from March 1, 2023.
The newly implemented GB55036-2022 General Code for Fire Protection Facilities 10.0.7 stipulates that fire extinguishers should be regularly maintained, repaired and scrapped. After the fire extinguisher is scrapped, it should be replaced in accordance with the principle of equivalent substitution.
If the relevant provisions in the current engineering construction standards are inconsistent with the General Code for Fire Protection Facilities (GB55036-2022), the provisions of the code shall prevail. A large number of mandatory provisions repealed include Article 5.3.2 of the Code for Acceptance and Inspection of Building Fire Extinguishers (GB 50444-2008).
The original specification on the number of years of fire extinguisher maintenance canceled the mandatory specification requirements, is there still a standard specification to stipulate the number of years?
The group standard "Fire Extinguisher Product Maintenance, Replacement and After-sales Service" T/CPQS XF003-2023 stipulates that 4.4.2.2 The fire extinguisher shall be repaired for the first time after 3 years of service from the date of manufacture;
4.4.2.3 From the date of maintenance and delivery, the maximum service life of the fire extinguisher shall comply with the provisions of Table 2. When the use environment and protection requirements change, the service life should be appropriately shortened.
Among them, the maximum service life of commonly used dry chemical fire extinguishers and carbon dioxide fire extinguishers is 2 years (1 year for water-based fire extinguishers).

Fire extinguisher scrapping requirements
The fire extinguisher shall be scrapped in one of the following circumstances: - Article 10.0.8 of the General Code for Fire Protection Facilities, GB 55036-2022
1. The rust area of the cylinder is greater than or equal to 1/3 of the total surface area of the cylinder, and there are pits on the surface;
2. The cylinder is obviously deformed and the mechanical damage is serious;
3. There are cracks in the head, and there is no pressure relief mechanism;
4. There is an irrational structure such as the cylinder is flat-bottomed;
5. Portable fire extinguishers without intermittent jet mechanism;
6. Unable to confirm the name of the production unit and the time of delivery, including the nameplate falling off, the nameplate is blurred, the name of the production unit cannot be distinguished, and the steel seal of the factory time cannot be recognized;
7. The cylinder has repair traces such as soldering, brazing or patching;
8. Burned by fire;
9. The ex-factory time reaches or exceeds the maximum scrapping period specified in Table 10.0.8.
