In order to effectively improve the popularization of citizens' knowledge and skills in emergency care, at the beginning of the year, Shanghai included "training 80,000 licensed emergency ambulances" as a practical project for the private sector in 2024. Since March 27, the District Red Cross Society has launched relevant training work in an all-round way, and has carried out primary ambulance training for the staff of some hotels, schools, fleets and nursing homes in the district, with about 130 people participating in the training.
The first training was held at the soon-to-be-opened Sofitel Jinhui Hotel, with more than 40 staff members of the hotel divided into two phases of training.
According to the syllabus of the Red Cross Society of China and the requirements of the new teaching curriculum formulated by the Municipal Red Cross Society this year, the 8-hour ambulance (primary) training of the practical project is mainly carried out by combining 4 hours of online theoretical learning and 4 hours of offline practical learning. Before this training, the trainees have completed the online theoretical learning and assessment under the guidance of the staff of the district and neighborhood Red Cross Societies.
During the training, the instructors comprehensively explained the emergency rescue knowledge such as cardiopulmonary resuscitation, automatic external defibrillator (AED), hemostasis and bandaging through the latest video courseware, and demonstrated on the spot for everyone to guide the students in practical operation and group exercises.
The on-site students listened carefully, actively interacted with the teachers, and continued to learn and consolidate rescue skills. The more than three-hour training was intense and full of dry goods. In the end, all the trainees successfully passed the assessment of cardiopulmonary resuscitation and trauma rescue bandaging projects.
Hotel staff Xiao Sun told reporters: "When I first listened to the teacher's lectures, I felt that these knowledge was simple and easy to understand, and after the actual operation, I found that there are many details that need special attention." Under the patient and careful guidance of the teacher, after repeated practice, I am very happy to master these skills!"
At the end of the training, the trainees said that this training strengthened the emergency rescue ability of hotel staff and improved the ability of hotel staff to deal with emergencies.

In 2024, the District Red Cross Society will strictly follow the training requirements of the Red Cross Society of China of "unified syllabus, unified technical standards, unified assessment standards, and unified certification management", and continue to cooperate with various departments and units in the district to carry out the "Five Advance Activities of Emergency Ambulance Training" - into institutions, communities, enterprises, schools, and buildings, continuously expand the popularization of first aid training population, and cooperate with the Red Cross Society and training bases in various streets to train no less than 2,100 certified emergency ambulances, and continue to strengthen the "Hongai Life First Aid Practice". The brand leads, so that the first aid concept of "caring for life and saving around" has been further promoted and practiced.
How to register
The training hours of this practical project are 8 hours, which are divided into online theoretical training and offline practical training, each with 4 class hours. Citizens can register through the "Shanghai First Aid" WeChat mini program, and after completing the online course, they can sign up for offline operation learning, and after passing the assessment, they can obtain the Red Cross Ambulance (Junior) electronic certificate, which is valid for three years. Registration will be closed when the annual training quota is completed.
