1. Mercedes-Benz (China) Automobile Sales Co., Ltd

Effective March 29, 2024, a total of 60,470 imported GLE SUV and GLS SUV vehicles with production dates between July 5, 2018 and November 2, 2023 are being recalled.

2. Beijing Benz Automobile Co., Ltd

Effective August 9, 2024, a total of 204255 vehicles with manufacturing dates between December 2, 2010 and October 31, 2014 are being recalled.

3. Mercedes-Benz (China) Automobile Sales Co., Ltd. and Beijing Benz Automobile Co., Ltd

From April 17, 2024, a total of 94,574 imported C-Class, S-Class, EQE, SL and domestically produced C-Class and GLC SUV vehicles with production dates between February 6, 2023 and October 13, 2023 will be recalled.

Reason of the recall

In the scope (1) of this recall, due to the deviation of the software development of the transmission control unit, under the specific conditions of the driver lightly pressing the brake pedal and the automatic transmission being lowered from 7th to 6th gear, the vehicle may stall while driving, which is a potential safety hazard.

In some vehicles within the scope of this recall (2), the 12V batteries assembled at the factory may seep out of the vicinity of the pole after prolonged use. In extreme cases, the battery sensor will be damaged, and the condensate in the air will infiltrate the battery sensor, causing it to corrode or even short circuit, and there is a risk of fire.

The 80A fuses of some vehicles within the scope of this recall (3) may be interrupted due to deviations in the welding process, which may cause the fuse connection to be interrupted or the current required for fusing is too high, resulting in the failure of the system associated with it, the vehicle may lose power, and the restraint system and instrument display will be affected, and there are potential safety hazards. In addition, the risk of fire is not ruled out.

Disposal measures

For the vehicles within the scope of the recall (1), Mercedes-Benz (China) Automobile Sales Co., Ltd. will upgrade the transmission control unit software for the vehicles within the scope of the recall free of charge through Mercedes-Benz authorized dealers to eliminate potential safety hazards.

For vehicles within the scope of the recall (2), Beijing Benz Automobile Co., Ltd. will replace the factory-assembled batteries that are still in use on the current vehicles free of charge through Mercedes-Benz authorized dealers. At the same time, the battery harness and battery sensor of the vehicle are overhauled, and if there are traces of corrosion, they are replaced to eliminate potential safety hazards.

For vehicles within the scope of the recall (3), Mercedes-Benz (China) Automobile Sales Co., Ltd. and Beijing Benz Automobile Co., Ltd. will replace the affected fuse boxes for the vehicles covered by the recall free of charge through authorized Mercedes-Benz dealers to eliminate potential safety hazards.

Effective September 1, 2024, a total of 13,569 units of some locally-made X1 vehicles with a production date from April 13, 2023 to December 12, 2023, and a total of 97 units of some locally-made X5 vehicles with a production date from August 17, 2023 to November 15, 2023 will be recalled. Reason of the recall

For some vehicles within the scope of this recall (1), due to production and assembly reasons, the tailgate cover and tailgate fixing frame may be peeled off at one or more adhesive points. In extreme cases, the tailgate cover can detach from the vehicle, posing a hazard to other road users and posing a safety hazard.

For vehicles within the scope of this recall (2), due to manufacturing reasons, the electrical signal of the motor position sensor of the integrated brake assist device (DSCi) is interfered with, which may cause DSCi to be unable to provide auxiliary braking, affecting the functions of the anti-lock braking system (ABS) and dynamic stability control system (DSC), and posing a safety hazard.

Disposal measures

For vehicles within the scope of the recall (1), BMW (China) Automotive Trading Co., Ltd. will inspect the tailgate cover for the vehicles within the scope of the recall free of charge, and replace it if it does not meet the requirements to eliminate potential safety hazards.

For vehicles within the scope of the recall (2), BMW Brilliance Automotive Co., Ltd. and BMW (China) Automotive Trading Co., Ltd. will replace the integrated brake booster device for the vehicles within the scope of the recall free of charge to eliminate potential safety hazards.

CBR1000 motorcycles

1. From March 29, 2024, a total of 2,997 imported 2019-2023 GL1800 motorcycles manufactured between October 18, 2018 and November 1, 2023 will be recalled.

2. From May 28, 2024, a total of 24 imported 2018 model year CBR1000 motorcycles manufactured between March 29, 2018 and October 12, 2018 will be recalled.

Reason of the recall

For some vehicles within the scope of this recall, due to the insufficient resin density of the fuel pump impeller, the impeller may be affected by the fuel and undergo swelling deformation, and interfere with the fuel pump housing, resulting in poor fuel pump work, unable to supply fuel to the engine normally, and in extreme cases, it may lead to engine stalling while driving, which is a potential safety hazard.

Disposal measures

Honda Motor Co., Ltd. will implement this recall in phases, starting with a spot check on the fuel pumps of the first part of the models, replacing the improved fuel pumps if the batches that do not meet the requirements are installed, and directly replacing the improved fuel pumps for the second and third parts of the models to eliminate potential safety hazards.
