Ford unveiled the all-electric Explorer a year ago. This is the first electric car built on Volkswagen's MEB platform, the same foundation as the Volkswagen ID.4.
The "Explorer EV" combines German engineering with striking American style. Ford says the electric explorer is the first in a new wave of electric vehicles that the company is rebranding the brand in Europe. Ford's mid-size all-electric SUV is built for family adventures, with around 470 liters of storage space and seats that comfortably seat 5 passengers. The Explorer EV includes a huge 15-inch removable touchscreen with a fully connected infotainment system, including Android Auto and AppleCarplay compatibility and advanced ADAS.
With fast charging from 10% to 80% in about 25 minutes, Ford Explorer EV drivers can quickly get back on the road. Despite this, Ford delayed the launch, mainly because the battery did not meet the new regulations. Ford redesigned the electric vehicle with a new NMC battery pack to meet the requirements. The new battery has a range of up to 374 miles (600 km), exceeding Ford's initial expectation of 311 miles.
