1. Background of the program

In the production workshops of electronic manufacturing, machinery manufacturing and other industries, it is necessary to display the operation data of PLC, thermostat and other equipment through touch screens and other display instruments. Mainstream solutions such as cable connection communication, gateway relay data, etc., are complex to deploy and expensive, and this paper aims to provide a simple and low-cost wireless communication solution for serial devices and touch screens.

Second, the scheme design

1. Equipment selection

Considering the data acquisition and transmission requirements, the XL66 serial wireless converter is a cost-effective choice. The XL66 serial wireless converter can collect the operating data of serial devices such as PLCs, controllers, and thermostats through the RS485/232 communication port, and communicate with the touch screen and other display instruments with RS485/232 communication port.

2. Transmission scheme

An XL66 is deployed on the monitoring side to connect to the touch screen, and multiple XL66s are deployed on the serial device side to collect data from the serial port device according to the actual situation. The XL66 at the monitoring end wirelessly reads the collected data of multiple XL66s on the serial device side through LoRa, and transmits the data to the touch screen through the RS485/232 communication port, so as to realize the wireless communication between multiple serial devices and the touch screen.
