The Confucian Temple is a temple building to commemorate and worship the great thinker and educator Confucius, which is the most concrete embodiment of Confucian Chongli thought and a very important part of traditional Chinese culture. "National Security" Fushun Confucian Temple is the core attraction of "Confucian Temple West Lake 4A-level Scenic Spot", which was built in the fourth year of Qingli in the Northern Song Dynasty (1044), and is now a relic of the reconstruction of the Qing Dynasty, covering an area of about 5,960 square meters. After the completion of the local enthusiasm for running schools, the county's literary style is open, the "imperial examination performance" is outstanding, and Fushun has the reputation of "the hometown of talents".
Among all the Confucian temples in China, the Fushun Confucian Temple is unique for its architectural scale, well-preserved, and unique architectural and carving art. The whole Confucian Temple, architecturally speaking, has both the majestic and solemn momentum of the northern building, and the beautiful and exquisite style of the southern building, the hollow stone carving is exquisite, the knife technique is strong, and the pattern is beautiful. Among them, there are more than 300 carved dragons of different shapes, which is really a great spectacle. In the Dacheng Hall, the main building of Fushun Confucian Temple, there are 17 statues of Confucius, four matches, twelve philosophers, etc., among which the statue of Confucius is rich and colorful, lifelike.
"There are a lot of things worth seeing in the Temple of Literature, and the beauty on the eaves corridor of the Dacheng Hall is not easy to find. Li Huali, a cultural relics protection engineer who participated in the maintenance of the Confucian Temple, said that these "neglected beauty" are the hump wood carvings of the eaves corridor that few people have paid attention to. Because it hangs high on the eaves beam, it is difficult to observe it up close.
The red wall has been mottled, and the ancient building is old, but it can't hide the exquisite ridge decoration of the roof of the Fushun Confucian Temple. From a distance, the main ridge of the roof of the Confucian Temple is a nine-curved rolling dragon of the upper glazed hollow flower ridge bricks, and the mixed ridge shape of the lower part of the stacked tile group with hammer gray gray plastic decoration, and the wing angle gray molding is elegant, high and long.
In 2001, Fushun Confucian Temple was announced by the State Council as the fifth batch of national key cultural relics protection units. From 2014 to 2016, the overall maintenance and protection project of Fushun Confucian Temple was successfully completed after two years. Nowadays, Fushun Confucian Temple is an important carrier of Confucian culture in Fushun County, and has long held activities such as lectures on Chinese culture, writing ceremonies, Fushun coming-of-age ceremonies, and reciting classics, widely popularizing excellent traditional culture, and educating and guiding students to practice the core values of socialism.
