Today is the twelfth World Forest Day. Under the guidance of Xi Jinping Thought on Ecological Civilization, Sinopec has implemented the green development strategy, earnestly fulfilled its responsibilities for ecological and environmental protection, continued to promote the green enterprise action plan, and continuously strengthened the protection of the ecological environment and the construction of greening. By the end of 2023, Sinopec has a total area of 12,000 hectares of green space, and since the 13th Five-Year Plan, a total of 3.35 billion yuan has been invested in greening, with 14.936 million square meters of new green space, and the green coverage rate of the built-up area of the enterprise has reached 32.9%. Trees, for the oil city of Dongying, are the spokesperson of ecology. Due to the high salt content of the soil, the survival rate of Dongying plants is low. Some people say that in Dongying, it is more difficult to plant a tree than to raise a child.
In the past, the salt flats are now full of green. Walking into the Shengli Oilfield, the pleasant ecological green can be seen: the Bailuhu Well Factory, presenting the beautiful scene of "blue sky, clear water, egrets flying, green green land and green pine 'well' color", which is a model of green, low-carbon and efficient development of Shengli Oilfield; Shengda 10,000 acres of ecological forest farm is full of greenery, and more than 1.6 million trees show the graceful style of green development...... Nowadays, in the Shengli Oilfield, you can see this kind of butterfly change born to green everywhere.
In recent years, Shengli Oilfield has actively integrated into the national strategy of ecological protection and high-quality development of the Yellow River Basin, and established a greening standard system covering the whole process of green space construction, maintenance and management. By the end of 2023, Shengli Oilfield has built a total area of 29.16 million square meters of various types of green space, with a green space rate of 30.8% in the built-up area, and has successively won many honors such as "National Greening Model Unit", "National Greening Advanced Collective" and "National Land Greening Outstanding Contribution Unit".

In recent years, Maoming Petrochemical Co., Ltd. has firmly established the concept of "lucid waters and lush mountains are invaluable assets", green production, afforestation and greening, so that the 69-year-old enterprise glows with new greenery, and kapok and triangular plum can be seen everywhere in the plant area.
The water production yard in the refining operation area of the water operation department is full of green trees, and flocks of egrets fly and frolic in the clear water. The treated wastewater in the chemical purification water device can raise goldfish, and the fish in the pond frolicking, the singing of birds and the fragrance of flowers attract the public who come to visit in amazement. Maoming Petrochemical Co., Ltd. uses the chemical water purification plant as an environmental education platform to explain popular science knowledge to the public, and the device has been named as the Guangdong Provincial Environmental Education Base by the Guangdong Provincial Department of Ecology and Environment.
Maoming Petrochemical continues to enhance the awareness of green development among its employees, and "from light green to dark green, all green, so that the enterprise is green" has become the consensus of cadres and employees. In the "Jiangwei Haitou" of the golden waterway of the Yangtze River, there is an old oil depot with a history of 50 years - Jiangsu Jiangyin Petroleum Changshan Oil Depot. This is an oil depot with two large-tonnage terminals and a storage capacity of 217,000 cubic meters, and is a first-class distribution center for petroleum in Jiangsu. It has witnessed the changes of the times and experienced a revolution of green innovation. On December 18, 2023, Changshan Oil Depot successfully passed the "three-star" green port certification in Jiangsu Province.
In recent years, the Changshan Oil Depot has been "inserting greenery in the cracks" and continuously carrying out ecological restoration and landscape construction. In the reservoir area, small green flower beds made of waste tires can be seen everywhere, and employees regularly maintain the green plants, attracting a large number of birds to forage and roost here, and the fragrance of flowers is overflowing in spring and summer.
The Changshan oil depot is adjacent to the Yangtze River, and the nearest distance is only 50 meters. In order to prevent the water environment of the wharf from being polluted, the oil depot installs a water surface oil spill monitoring and early warning system in the wharf operating waters, and installs high-efficiency oil and gas recovery devices in the land delivery area and the wharf. For all vessels berthing at the terminal, the oil depot receives domestic sewage, and adopts a diversion system to treat production wastewater, domestic sewage and clean rainwater.
At the same time, Changshan Oil Depot implements energy saving, carbon reduction and resource intensive utilization development measures, loading and unloading equipment are driven by electric energy and installed frequency conversion devices to save energy consumption; long-distance pipeline oil collection and payment function has high safety performance and low environmental pollution; wharf and tank farm lighting are all solar lamps, and the implementation of zoning timing control to minimize carbon emissions.

In the season when the warbler flies and the grass grows, the courtyard of the 100-year-old Shanghai Petroleum Gaoqiao Oil Depot is full of vitality, with lush green plants and colorful flowers blooming all year round.
On the eve of Arbor Day, Shanghai Petroleum organized a tree planting action at the Gaoqiao Oil Depot, and at the same time launched the Internet tree planting action of "I Plant New Green for the Snowy Plateau", and organized donations to implement green concepts and measures to the depot station and promote the construction of carbon reduction and green expansion at the grassroots depot. At present, the greening rate of 4 oil depots in operation of Shanghai Petroleum has reached 45%, and the average greening rate of reconstructed and newly built refueling stations is more than 30%.
Integrating the concept of "clean energy and beautiful life" into the city's bloodline and continuously contributing to the city's green and low-carbon development is a vivid practice of Sinopec in Shanghai. As early as 20 years ago, Shanghai Petroleum launched the supply of No. 98 high-quality clean gasoline, which has grown from an average of 5 tons per day to an average of more than 100 tons per day at 230 stations.
In the market-oriented and large-scale application of biodiesel, Shanghai Petroleum is the only sales enterprise that disposes of and utilizes "gutter oil". Since November 2017, PetroChina has consumed a total of 85,000 tons of biodiesel made from kitchen waste oil.
In recent years, Shanghai Petroleum has accelerated its transformation and upgrading to a comprehensive energy service provider of "oil, gas, hydrogen and electric services" in the process of polishing the background color of green city construction. Vigorously promote the supply of clean energy, build 5 oil-hydrogen co-construction stations, with a total supply of more than 1,000 tons of hydrogen to the society, operate 46 charging and swapping stations, supply a total of 25 million kilowatt-hours of electricity to vehicles, and install 40 distributed photovoltaic projects, with an annual power generation capacity of 2.2 million kilowatt-hours. In the filling plant of lubricating oil Beijing Co., Ltd., the bright orange robotic arm rotates tirelessly and flies, quickly stacking boxes of finished packaging oil that has just come off the assembly line onto the bottom of the goods, and the AGV unmanned car accurately transports the oil to the three-dimensional warehouse according to the preset route, and then directly sends it to the pick-up vehicle by the high-speed conveyor belt. This smart factory was not only successfully selected into the 2023 green manufacturing list of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, but also rated as a national green factory.
This scenario is another achievement of the lubricant company to broaden the way to explore and innovate, strengthen governance and improve efficiency, and promote the green and low-carbon development of the lubricant industry.
In 2023, the lubricant company will complete the carbon reduction requirements of the group company in the "14th Five-Year Plan" ahead of schedule through measures such as energy conservation and consumption reduction, construction of wind and photovoltaic projects, and increasing the proportion of green electricity. At present, the company uses natural gas, electricity, steam, etc., and the proportion of solar and wind energy self-power supply has increased year by year, with a total installed capacity of 8.32 MW of wind power and photovoltaic power, 9.32 million kWh of self-supplied green electricity per year, and a reduction of 5,300 tons of carbon emissions. The use of SMB and other advanced production technology, compared with the traditional process to improve efficiency by 70%, energy saving by 75%.
The company continues to expand the application scope of green technology, and actively promotes the development of lubricating oil in the direction of low sulfur, energy saving, biodegradable, and long oil change period. The Company's oil, grease and liquid products are widely used in clean energy fields such as hydrogen power generation, wind power, hydropower, solar photovoltaic power generation, and geothermal.
Natural Gas Branch: Walk into the "Green Factory" of LNG Receiving Station

The sea breeze is blowing, the waves are gusting, and at the site of the Tianjin LNG receiving terminal of the natural gas branch on the shore of the Bohai Sea, the pipe gallery is meandering, the storage tank is standing, and the torch is towering...... The busy terminal is full of vitality, and this is the LNG terminal with the largest gas storage capacity in China, with an annual transfer capacity of 10.8 million tons. In Qingdao, China's first 270,000 cubic meter LNG storage tank stands on the shore of the Yellow Sea, adding new impetus to the stable supply of clean energy.
In 2023, the Tianjin LNG terminal and Qingdao LNG terminal of the natural gas branch were both rated as "green factories in the petroleum and chemical industry", and they are also the first LNG terminals in China to receive this honor.
The company innovated and built a wetland demonstration area to carry out breeding and release. Based on the concept of circular economy, Tianjin LNG terminal has built a new model of water resource utilization, creating a vivid situation of spring flowers and autumn fruits, birds singing and frogs chirping. At the same time, the company continues to optimize the energy consumption structure and steadily introduces new energy into the whole process of production and operation. "We have carried out the procurement of 'green electricity' for the first time at an LNG terminal, which plays a vital role in reducing energy costs and accelerating the construction of a new energy system. The relevant staff of the safety and environmental protection department of the natural gas branch said. In 2023, the company will purchase more than 20 million kWh of green electricity from its two own LNG terminals, which can reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 11,400 tons. In addition, Tianjin LNG terminal is independently building a cold and heat energy exchange station, which can realize energy mutual supply after completion, and is the first cold energy utilization industry chain project in China.
Nanhua Company: Thick background of high-quality development

Weeping willow, lupus fir, osmanthus, camphor, magnolia...... In the past three years, Nanhua Company has beautified the production area, treated the environment of sewage treatment devices and slag discharge sites, and successively planted more than 30,000 trees of various types, and continuously improved the green appearance of the production equipment area. Nanhua Company demolished 14 abandoned buildings along the river, cleaned up debris in an area of 12,000 square meters outside the flood control wall, planted trees on the embankment, and promoted the greening and beautification of the Yangtze River embankment. By the end of 2023, the green space rate of the plant will reach 33%, the green coverage rate will reach 37%, and the total green coverage area will be 975,000 square meters, and it will be awarded the honorary title of "Advanced Collective of Green Management of the Group Company".

Focusing on source emission reduction, Nanhua Company has successfully achieved "zero-carbon" emissions in the whole life cycle of rubber antioxidant products, deeply cultivated the research and development of CCUS technology, developed a variety of carbon capture solvents, and equipped carbon capture skid-mounted equipment, promoted the efficient recycling and utilization of carbon resources, and continued to cultivate the background of high-quality development.
