01 Introduction to the World Scholar's Cup WSC tournament
The World Scholar’s Cup
The World Scholar's Cup, originated in the United States, is an academic Olympiad for secondary school students around the world officially supported by Yale University. Every year, about 50,000 primary and secondary school students from more than 140 countries and regions participate in this academic feast.
With its unique inquiry-based learning method, the World Scholar's Cup focuses on an annual theme to carry out in-depth exploration and competition in six major disciplines, including science, sociology, history, art, literature, and general education, aiming to inspire young scholars' interest in different disciplines, cultivate their teamwork skills, international communication skills, innovative thinking skills and critical thinking skills, and achieve future scholars and leaders.
In addition to academic competition, the World Scholar's Cup also attaches great importance to the cultivation of core qualities, such as teamwork ability. Students are expected to work together in teams of 3 to tackle various challenges, relying on each other and cooperating. Such experiences can be very beneficial in developing a spirit of cooperation and leadership.
Participating students are divided into junior and senior groups according to their age. The competition includes team quizzes, scholars' knowledge challenges, collaborative creation, team debates and other links, including individual challenges and teamwork, and the scoring method is comprehensively calculated. The awards cover different aspects to encourage students' all-round development, reflecting the educational philosophy of "participation over competition" advocated by the competition.
02 WSC Preparation Arrangements and Results
The 2023 WSC World Scholar's Cup China Regional Round, Xiamen Global Round, and Yale Championship Round all ended last year, and the 2024 New City Championship has been launched. SDcamps has trained a large number of WSC players, not only students from Chinese mainland, but also players from Taiwan, Hong Kong, Japan, South Korea, Singapore, Dubai and other places.
For the 6 academic subjects and 4 competitions of the WSC World Scholars Cup, we have arranged WSC academic preparation courses and WSC academic preparation courses respectively. The students we coached during the City and Global rounds had some amazing results.
The World Scholar's Cup covers six disciplines: Special Area, History, Science &Technology, Art &Music, Social Studies and Literature &Media. The training will be based on our previous experience in coaching participating students, and will be conducted at the intersection of different disciplines and projects for the requirements of the global round.
SDcamps has rich experience in event organization and coaching, and has a highly international professional coaching team that is good at tutoring overseas competitions, and helps contestants conduct high-intensity pre-competition training and guidance through rich and complete debate materials, preparation courses that are highly compatible with various competitions, and targeted simulation drills, from data preparation to debate draft.
03 2024 World Scholar's Cup Theme
The annual theme of the WSC World Scholar's Cup 2024 is "Reimagining the Present". The topics of the six major competitions will be based on this theme. Reinventing the past is a challenging proposition that requires both historical knowledge and critical thinking. Students will be able to examine historical events from a new perspective, explore different versions of historical memory, and think about the attitudes that human beings should uphold in the face of the past, which will cultivate students' historical awareness and broaden their horizons.

In 2018, the WSC World Scholars Cup officially entered China. After several years of development, it has become an international academic event that many primary and secondary school students in China pay attention to. We sincerely look forward to the wonderful launch of the 2023 World Scholar's Cup WSC China series of competitions, so that more young students will have the opportunity to experience the unique competition mode and cultural atmosphere of the World Scholar's Cup.
