Volkswagen: Scirocco will "resume production" and build it on the same platform as the Porsche 718! Will you buy it?

A few days ago, Zhidian Travel learned that Volkswagen is considering relaunching the Scirocco model (formerly the Scirocco model in the domestic market) in the form of an all-electric sports car. Volkswagen is currently "studying internal design, engineering and manufacturing options", and its internal sources say that if approved by Volkswagen CEO Thomas Schafer, the new generation Scirocco model is expected to go into production in 2028.

As can be seen from the previously released exterior renderings, Volkswagen's new generation Scirocco model is equipped with a blackened honeycomb grille at the head, and LED daytime running light strips run through the headlight clusters on both sides. The side of the body adopts a two-door design, and a large blackened spoiler is added to the rear, and the overall styling design is also borrowed from the design elements of the Volkswagen ID.GTI concept.

It is reported that Volkswagen's fourth-generation Scirocco will be the first new model that does not share the platform with the Golf, and the latter's new generation model will also be based on the SSP architecture, while the new generation Scirocco is expected to be based on the same platform as the Porsche 718 pure electric model (PPE architecture platform developed by Audi and Porsche), and provide dual electric motor drive, slim battery pack and keen dynamic driving experience.
