According to the report released by Dr. Ulduar, Kiptum died of severe head trauma from a car accident. In addition to the severe head trauma, Kiptum also suffered rib fractures of varying degrees on both sides and lung damage.

Dr Ulduar said biological samples had been taken from Kiptum for further analysis, and the test was aimed at determining whether there were any external factors that contributed to his death.
Kiplagat, a spokesman for the Kiptum family, said he witnessed the whole process from 11 a.m. to around 1:40 p.m. Their family recognized the entire autopsy process and results and are now awaiting the results of the analysis of biological samples.

On February 23, local time, Kenya will hold a state funeral for Kiptum to bid farewell to the long-distance running legend.
