Lin Guozhong, who is in his 50s this year, is an old fisherman with more than 30 years of farming experience. Since last year, Lin Guozhong has begun to introduce deep-sea cage farming. He also became the first person in the area to "eat crabs". Lin Guozhong has a total of 10 deep-sea cages, each of which is about 1 acre, and these cages are all cultivated with real sea bream.
"In the past, fishermen watched the sky and ate. Typhoons and red tides will cause us great losses. However, deep-sea cage culture is much less risky. "Walking on the platform of deep-sea cage farming, it feels very stable. Lin Guozhong told reporters that compared with traditional cage farming, deep-sea aquaculture has greatly strengthened its ability to resist wind and waves. And the breeding environment is the closest to the growth environment of the fish itself, so the growth rate of the fish is faster, and the fish raised has good body shape, good nutrients, delicious meat, and the quality of the fish is significantly improved. In this way, the cost reduction and efficiency increase are well realized.
"You can keep up to 50 tonnes of fish per cage, but 30-40 tonnes is the most suitable density. Lin Guozhong said that according to the current situation, the output value of these deep-sea cages can reach 8 million a year, and the profit has increased a lot compared with the past. As the first old fisherman in this area to "eat crabs", Lin Guozhong is feeling the income dividend brought by deep-sea aquaculture.
The reporter learned that the traditional fishery waters continue to decrease, the fishery development space is limited, the offshore fishery operation has a large impact on the environment, and the traditional fishery aquaculture technology content is low, labor intensity is large, therefore, the expansion of fishery aquaculture to the offshore, deep water, open sea area is the general trend. In recent years, Fujian Province has vigorously developed deep-sea aquaculture, promoted the transformation of marine fisheries to deep-sea, intensive and high-end, and built a whole industrial chain integrating design, construction, nursery, feed, aquaculture, cold chain logistics, and aquatic product processing and sales, so as to help the modernization and transformation of marine aquaculture.
