When the puppet Manchurians collapsed, the Red Gun Society of Keqi was organized by a small group of traitors and reactionary landlords in the name of "protecting the family and guarding against bandits" by a small group of traitors and reactionary landlords.
In March 1946 (the 18th day of the second month of the lunar calendar), under the planning and manipulation of the traitor landlord Tian Mingliang, some thugs of the Red Gun Society were instigated to attack the government of Xiehe District and the government of Shuitang District, and we suffered a lot of losses. This was a counter-revolutionary riot provoked against us by the reactionary landlords.
At that time, I had just returned from a meeting at the Lynsey Commissioner's Office, and I was passing through the Shui Tong District Government to deal with the issue by the way. In view of the complexity of the situation in the district and the impurity of the composition of the district squad, it was decided to reorganize the district squad.
The landlord-turned-captain was dismissed, and most of the problematic personnel were sent home, and seven or eight guns were handed over to our cadres and reliable comrades for mastery. At the same time, the method of transferring the tiger from the mountain was adopted, and I sent someone to inform Tian Mingming, who had been removed from the post of district head, to return to the government as soon as possible to wait for the handling.
In order to find out more about the activities of the Red Gun Society, Song Guoliang, deputy secretary of the district party committee, and several cadres and soldiers were dispatched to reconnoiter with guns that night.
At that time, of the 10 or so people we left in the district, only me and the guards had guns, and under the cover of the two of us, the comrades broke through the encirclement and rushed to fight hand-to-hand combat, and the next day it was found that Qiao Fengshan, the director of the public security bureau, and five other comrades had been killed and died honorably. Three people, including me, the guards, and I were also wounded.
After the incident, the sub-district organized a group of cadres and armed forces to carry out the aftermath work. First of all, a powerful political offensive was launched, exposing the conspiracy and trickery of the reactionary landlords to deceive the masses by using feudal superstition and the criminal activities of carrying out counterrevolutionary riots, thus awakening many deceived masses.
They said with emotion: "The Eighth Route Army has guns in their hands and will not attack us, they are not our opponents, and the Communist Party is a good person." ”
Facts educate the masses and distinguish who is right from wrong. At the request of the masses, the Rebei Commissioner's Office decided to arrest and bring him to justice in light of Tian Mingliang's armed rebellion and his consistent criminal behavior, execute him after holding a public trial meeting in Linxi, and confiscate his land, livestock, and other property and distribute it to the masses.
When the masses saw the fate of the culprit, they all applauded and cheered warmly, "The Communist Party leaders have turned over!"
The county party committee has inspected the Red Gun Society riot and held that our temporary use of some feudal forces (mainly referring to the appointment of a group of high-level figures as district heads) to open up work has its desirable side, but it has also brought negative consequences.
In February, although Tian Mingliang was dismissed from his post as district chief, he was not immediately detained, causing him to go back to organize the Red Gun Society to carry out a riot. Although we have temporarily used the landlords to open up the work, to a certain extent, we have influenced the mobilization of the masses and made the masses dare not boldly approach us.
Second, the burden on the collection of the previous year's large tobacco tax was too broad, which caused dissatisfaction among some people. The mistakes in our work have given the reactionary landlords an opportunity.
This is a painful lesson, which has made us profoundly realize that only by closely relying on the broad masses and mobilizing the masses to carry out the struggle for liquidation and rent reduction against the landlord class can we establish and consolidate the democratic political power.
