On the same day, the lifting of the outer dome of the multi-purpose modular small reactor technology demonstration project "Linglong No. 1" of Hainan Changjiang Nuclear Power Plant was completed. The completion of the hoisting of the outer dome marks the completion of the main structure of the reactor building and lays the foundation for the subsequent topping out of the reactor building.
It is understood that "Linglong-1" is the world's first onshore commercial multi-purpose modular small pressurized water reactor to start construction, and it is another major achievement of the independent innovation of nuclear power in mainland China after "Hualong No. 1". Linglong No. 1 is expected to be completed and put into operation in 2026, with an annual power generation capacity of 1 billion kilowatt hours, which can meet the electricity needs of 526,000 households in Hainan Province.
