Aunt Zhang is a loyal "aunt fan" of actor Jin Dong. In October 2021, Aunt Zhang was pulled into the fan group called "Jin Dong Star". Since February 2022, Aunt Zhang has been constantly recharging and rewarding a user named "Jin Dong" in the group.
Soon after, "Jin Dong" added Aunt Zhang's WeChat in the name of love, from greetings for three meals a day, to chatting with "sister" late at night, Aunt Zhang gradually fell in the "idol" shouting and asking for warmth, and successively transferred nearly 200,000 yuan to him, until her son found out and called the police, Aunt Zhang still didn't want to believe that her "idol" would be a "fraudster" in her son's mouth.
However, Aunt Zhang's experience is not unique, behind this is an organized and premeditated criminal gang.
"The defendant Wang Moumou is the head of this criminal gang. From May 2022 to June 2023, Wang successively recruited defendants Gao XX, Cai XX, Li XX, Chen XXA, Lin XX, Lin XX, Chen XX B and others as salesmen to carry out fraudulent activities.
All salesmen were instructed by Wang Moumou to publish videos or audios of fake stars or celebrities such as "Jin Dong" on Douyin and Kuaishou short video platforms, attracting middle-aged and elderly women, deceiving the other party's trust, and then using the above-mentioned fake celebrities or celebrities to carry out online chats and online dating with the victims on the WeChat platform, inducing the victims to establish emotional ties with the "stars", and finally using investment, public welfare, support, online shopping, asked for money for various reasons such as love, and defrauded many victims of money through WeChat transfers and other methods, totaling more than 310,000 yuan.
"After trial, the court held that the defendant Wang Moumou instructed the other seven defendants to fake their identities, fabricate facts, and defraud others of their property many times for the purpose of illegal possession, and that the acts of the eight defendants constituted the crime of fraud and should be punished in accordance with law. Wang XX played a major role in the joint crime and was the principal offender, while the other seven defendants played a secondary and auxiliary role and were accomplices. All 8 defendants voluntarily returned their illegal gains and paid fines in advance, and showed a certain degree of remorse, and they can all be given lighter punishments as appropriate.
Accordingly, the people's court sentenced defendant Wang XX to three years imprisonment and a fine of 50,000 yuan, and Cai XX and seven other defendants were sentenced to fixed-term imprisonment ranging from two years to four months of short-term detention, and were given suspended sentences and fines.
In November 2023, Jin Dong has already responded to the "fake Jin Dong incident" on social platforms, and there are still many "aunt fans" who have been deceived.
