That is, HarmonyOS is completely independent of Android and will not be very far away. I also took a closer look at these more than 200 apps, covering our commonly used head apps, including Alipay, Meituan, AutoNavi Map, Weibo, etc. However, one of the most important applications is missing, and that is the chat tool WeChat.
WeChat, I believe everyone here is using it. According to the data, the current number of users using WeChat has reached 1.04 billion, and the Chinese population is 1.4 billion.
On Zhihu, someone once asked how much Apple would be affected in China if iOS did not support WeChat, and some bloggers also bluntly said: chat software can be used on a mobile phone.
Now Huawei is also facing the same problem, if WeChat is really not suitable for Hongmeng, then the user is very likely to choose to change the phone rather than change the chat software. Because chat software is tied to family, friends, colleagues, customers, etc., even if Huawei has the ability to develop a new chat software, it will not be able to attract more users.
So why has WeChat not adapted to Huawei Hongmeng for a long time? I have read the explanations of some bloggers, and there are several possibilities:
(1) The adaptation workload of WeChat is large. Because in addition to WeChat's own chat attributes, it also has a large number of small programs, and there are also many tools bound behind WeChat, such as WeChat payment, WeChat 12306 ticket purchase service, WeChat taxi, etc., so transplantation requires a lot of work, and it also means a lot of costs (money cost, time cost?), etc.
(2) Distribution of benefits. WeChat used to have a bad quarrel with Apple because of the 30% Apple tax. It's unclear how Harmony's app store will collect taxes, but it certainly won't be low. Huawei and Tencent will inevitably have differences on this benefit, depending on how peace will be negotiated in the end.
In addition to WeChat, another national-level mobile game King of Glory, there is still no information to adapt. It seems that Tencent and Huawei are still negotiating.
