BYD will officially launch the all-new Dolphin electric car in February, and there is news that the car may be named the Dolphin Champion Edition. The new car will be painted in Atlantis Grey and designed with new low-drag rims. According to the previously released purchase tax exemption catalog, the new Dolphin will introduce a battery pack with a capacity of 60.48 kWh, which can have a range of up to 520 kilometers in operating conditions.
The battery capacity of the new car has been increased by more than 16 kWh compared to the previous model, the range has been increased by more than 100 km, and the curb weight has been increased by 250 kg. In addition, the new Dolphin will also be upgraded with independent rear suspension, rear privacy glass, 50W mobile phone charging in the front, ventilated/heated front seats, and a trunk compartment. It is also expected that a motor with a maximum output of 150 kilowatts will be added to improve the vehicle's dynamic performance.
It is worth mentioning that the 2023 Dolphin electric car was officially launched in December last year, followed by the launch of two 500,000 commemorative editions. At present, the official guide price range of the Dolphin electric vehicle is 116,800 yuan to 139,800 yuan. The 2023 Dolphin offers two power options with a maximum power of 70 kW and 130 kW, corresponding to a peak torque of 180 Nm and 290 Nm, respectively. In terms of battery, the 2023 Dolphin is equipped with a lithium iron phosphate blade battery with a capacity of 44.9 kWh, which has a range of 420 km and 401 km respectively depending on the power.
In addition to the domestic market, the BYD Dolphin will also be launched in overseas markets such as Japan and the United Kingdom in 2023. Compared to the domestic version, the overseas version of the Dolphin has been adjusted in appearance and offers a model with a maximum power of 150 kW and a peak torque of 310 Nm.
