Design
The OM-1 Mark II is almost indistinguishable from the previous generation, and when it first arrived, it was thought to be the first generation, and this generation of cameras replaced the "OLYMPUS" of the previous generation with "OM SYSREM" in the warship department, and the Roman numeral "II." was marked in the lower right corner of the front, indicating that this is the second generation of the body.
The size of the fuselage is basically the same as before, about 134.8mm (length) x 91.6mm (height) x 72.7mm (width), and weighs 599g, which is still relatively small in the hand in terms of volume and weight.

Real-life experience
The OM-1 Mark II is very small, and with the newly released 9-18mm Gen II lens, it will not be a burden to hold in our hands, so we are more than happy to take it out for shooting.
In addition, there is a very good point, that is, the menu layout of this camera is very clear, there is only a first-level menu, even a novice can quickly get started, and the screen also supports touch screen operation, when actually using, you can quickly find the various options in the menu.
In terms of photography, although the effective pixel of the camera is only 20.4 million pixels, it does not have obvious advantages in large-scale cropping and enlargement, but it can still maintain a very excellent picture output for daily use, with the latest OM 150-600mm lens, even at the 600mm end, the center image quality is still very sharp.
With 8.5 stops of stabilization, we were able to shoot with the newly released Super Telephoto OM 150-600mm lens and maintain a high success rate by setting the shutter speed below the safe shutter.

When shooting at night, with the 9-18mm II. generation lens without stabilization, we even directly held it with one hand for 1 second, and the fixed building was still clear without stabilization, and the traffic flow appeared on the rails, which was terrifying.
You don't have to worry about focusing when you take pictures, the camera body has a variety of built-in object recognition and focusing, and you can lock the subject by pressing the shutter focus halfway, so you don't have to worry about losing focus during shooting.
In terms of continuous shooting, the OM-1 Mark II supports continuous shooting at up to 120fps, which is very fast, but at this time we can only use manual focusing, but we found that the UI interface is not very intuitive during continuous shooting, and even during the subsequent continuous shooting, we pressed the shutter and stopped after only a few consecutive shots, but the camera did not prompt at this time, which may have an impact on the shooting effect.
In terms of video performance, this camera supports up to C4K 60fps, 1080P 60fps, and 1080P 240fps (10x slow motion), which is unfortunately not 4K 120fps, but 4K 60fps is basically enough in daily use, in H.264 encoding format, the maximum bitrate can reach 202Mbps, but only 8-bit color depth, in H.265 encoding format, the maximum bitrate is 152Mbps, but can shoot 10-bit color depth video, we will use H.265 encoding under 4K 60fps for shooting.
In addition, it also supports OM-Log 400 and HLG color modes, with a wider dynamic range and color space, which can be adjusted more freely in the software in the post-production.
Needless to say, video stabilization allows us to hold a 600mm (1200mm equivalent) focal length and shoot a stable picture.
