I. Acute tail inflammation
The appendix (vermiformappendix) is a slender blind tube protruding from the inner posterior wall of the cecum, shaped like an earthworm, so it is also called an vermiform. The length varies, with an average of 5-7 cm and a diameter of about 0.5 cm. The end of the appendix is free, and the root is relatively constant, which is the confluence of the three colonic bands of the cecum and continues into the longitudinal appendix muscle.

Fifth, treatment
Traditional laparotomy: generally take an incision in the right lower abdomen, sometimes oblique incision, sometimes straight incision, the incision is generally about 4cm, enter from the incision to find the appendix, lift the appendix to the outside of the abdomen, and dissect and remove from the root of the appendix, which is the previous practice.
Laparoscopic surgery: With the development and maturity of laparoscopic technology, most of the appendicitis surgeries, that is, appendectomy, are generally performed laparoscopically, which has many benefits, one is minimally invasive, and the other is that the field of view is broader and more comprehensive, and the search for the appendix is not limited to the limitations caused by small incisions. In laparoscopy, three holes are generally punched, the largest hole may be 1cm, and the other two holes may be 0.5cm, and the appendix is removed under laparoscopy and taken out through the abdominal hole, which is a common practice.
Drainage: The appendix has been suppurated and rotten, and the appendix can no longer be found after surgery, in this case, catheterization and drainage will be carried out, that is, in the area of the appendix, two tubes will be placed in the ileocecal part to drain out the pus and infected things, and then anti-infection treatment will be carried out. If an abscess is formed around the appendix, it can also be regarded as a surgical method of puncture and drainage without surgery at this time, and puncture and catheterization under ultrasound or CT guidance, and place a drainage tube in the abscess cavity to drain the pus.
