200 Wa coalition forces approached Naypyidaw, the capital of Burma, and the Wa coalition army and the Burmese army fought in the important town of Shannan in Xisheng

Since January 2024, the conflict along the China-Myanmar border has gradually calmed down since a formal ceasefire agreement was signed, but the war continues to spill over to other parts of Myanmar. The 1,000-strong Bo'e National Liberation Army, with the assistance of the Northern Shan State Army and the Karen National Liberation Army, successfully captured the important town of Se Thanh in southern Shan, approached Naypyidaw, the capital of Myanmar, and successfully repelled the attack of the Burmese army.

It is worth noting that, combined with the Myanmar media and the news from the Southern Shan State Army, there is a Wa coalition army of about 200 people who have been directly involved in the operation against the Burmese army.

For a long time, Shan Nan has been stable and peaceful compared to Shan Bei, where there are many wars, and there are fewer conflicts and wars.

The battle of the former victory was caused by the interception of information by the Burmese army, and the Boou National Liberation Army was going to receive a batch of weapons from the "Northern Shan State Army" and destroyed the five truckloads of munitions. Subsequently, the coalition of the Bo'e National Liberation Army, the Northern Shan State Army and the Karen National Liberation Army retaliated and captured four strongholds of the Burmese army and local militias, and then pursued the victory and directly captured the town of Si Thanh.

Capture the coalition forces of the former victory

In order to regain the former victory, the Burmese army used drones and fighter jets, and at one time it was reported that the Burmese army had regained the former victory. Although the coalition has since claimed that it is fake news, from another perspective, the Tatmadaw has recently been actively summing up lessons and starting to use drones on a large scale, which has brought greater trouble to the coalition forces. Meanwhile, in Sagaing province, the Burmese army began to reclaim towns occupied by coalition forces, which were warmly welcomed by the local Burmese masses. On the other hand, the Tatmadaw has taken the initiative to withdraw from small strongholds in areas controlled by ethnic armed forces in many places and shrink its strength.

However, although the former victorious Burmese army caused more trouble for the coalition forces, the coalition forces held on. The main differences between the Battle of the Past and other battlefields in Burma are:

First, it is very close to Naypye, the capital of Burma, which can be regarded as directing the war against the junta to the heart of the enemy;

Second, the Bo Ou National Liberation Army (PLA) is the signatory of the second Pinlong agreement, unlike the seven members of the Federal Political Consultative Council (FPNCC) dominated by Wa, including the Kokang Allied Army, the De'ang Liberation Army, and the Rakhan Army.

Third, the spearhead of the war was pointed at the Wa State at the beginning, starting from the escort of 5 truckloads of arms, the Northern Shan State Army escorting the arms was accused of being the Wa coalition army, and the Burmese media even said that 200 Wa coalition troops were dressed in Northern Shan State to participate in the attack. This is also very different from what it used to be. In the past, it was only gossip that the Wa coalition army changed its clothes to participate in the war.
