On December 25, the book launch of the "China Development Report 2023" was held in Beijing. Long Guoqiang and Yu Bin, deputy directors of the Development Research Center of the State Council and members of the Party Leadership Group, unveiled the new book and delivered speeches. Jiang Xiaojuan, professor of the University of Chinese Academy of Social Sciences and former deputy secretary general of the State Council, Gao Peiyong, member of the Faculty of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences and former vice president, Lu Cairong, deputy director of the China Foreign Languages Publishing and Distribution Bureau, and Wang Liming, vice chairman and secretary general of the Publishers Association of China, attended the press conference and discussed how to tell the story of China's development in a real, three-dimensional and comprehensive way.
In his speech, Long Guoqiang pointed out that the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China has embarked on a new journey of building a modern socialist country in an all-round way. To comprehensively promote Chinese-style modernization, it is necessary to conduct in-depth research on a series of major theoretical and practical topics. Documenting the process of Chinese-style modernization and conducting in-depth research on the major issues facing China's development are of great significance to the development of China and the world.
The Development Research Center of the State Council, as a policy research and decision-making advisory body directly serving the CPC Central Committee and the State Council, has decided to compile and publish the annual China Development Report from 2023, aiming to record the extraordinary journey of the Party leading the people to promote Chinese-style modernization. The report constructs a "1+5+N" content framework.
"1" is to record the ideological, institutional and practical achievements of China's development as a whole; "5" is used to record the main achievements in related fields under the guidance of the five development concepts of innovation, coordination, green, openness and sharing; and "N" is used to publish some research results of the Development Research Center of the State Council on major issues of China's development.
In his speech, Yu Bin said that 2022 is an extremely important year in the history of the Party and the country. The 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China (CPC) was held this year, making systematic arrangements for building a modern socialist country in an all-round way. The Development Research Center of the State Council has gathered collective wisdom to form the China Development Report 2023, which records the ideological, institutional, and practical achievements formed in the process of promoting Chinese-style modernization in 2022.
At the same time, it includes three important research results of the Development Research Center of the State Council, gives full play to the research advantages of the Development Research Center of the State Council, and puts forward opinions and suggestions on the study of some major issues encountered in the process of Chinese-style modernization. In the next step, the Development Research Center of the State Council will fully absorb and learn from the opinions and suggestions of experts, give full play to the role of the Development Research Center of the State Council as a platform for external publicity, exchange and cooperation of the national high-end think tank, continuously expand the influence of the China Development Report at home and abroad, and tell China's story, spread China's voice and contribute China's wisdom in the process of Chinese-style modernization.
At the meeting, He Jianwu, deputy director of the Development Strategy and Regional Economic Research Department of the Development Research Center of the State Council, and Xu Wei, deputy director of the Macroeconomic Research Department, introduced the main contents and important views of the book on behalf of the authors. China Think Tank: Dialogue with the National Research Think Tank, China's National Policy Research, National Research and Political Situation, and Economic Information Think Tank, the participating experts believe that the China Development Report is a panoramic annual development report.

The China Development Report 2023 is organized and written by the Development Research Center of the State Council and published by China Development Press. In the future, China Development Press and Foreign Languages Press will jointly launch an English version for global distribution.
