Zhang Chuansen is versatile and has been engaged in cultural propaganda work in party and government organs for more than 30 years. Fellow practitioners of calligraphy and painting, poetry, seal carving, and photography are also quite skilled. In December 1990, at the invitation of Japan Co., Ltd., he participated in the "Chinese Traditional Culture Supplies Pavilion" organized by the Ministry of Culture, Commerce and International Trade of China to go to Japan for cultural exchanges. In July 2001, Mr. Zhang Chuansen was invited to the Washington Artists Gallery to hold the "2001 Chinese Art Exhibition", and his works were collected by the Washington City Government, the Washington Artists Gallery and the Embassy of the People's Republic of China in the United States. In June 2017, he was invited to Hong Kong to participate in the "Chinese Calligraphy and Painting Creation Competition and Art Exchange Exhibition to Celebrate the 20th Anniversary of Hong Kong's Return to the Motherland", and won the honorary title of "Gold Award for Best Literary and Artistic Creation in the New Era and the Most Beautiful Artist"; In August 2017, he was invited to participate in the exhibition of works of the Repin Academy of Fine Arts in St. Petersburg, Russia, and was awarded the "Sino-Russian Cultural and Art Exchange Ambassador". Mr. Chai Zemin, Vice President of the China Institute of Foreign Affairs and the first ambassador to the United States, wrote an article entitled "Joy and Happiness in Yan", praising Mr. Zhang Chuansen: "After accumulating decades of work as a fish, he finally won the reputation of 'King of Fish', which is sincere." General Chi Haotian wrote an inscription: "Carry forward the spirit of Yimeng and prosper the art of calligraphy and painting." Mr. Yan Zhentang, President of the China Collectors Association, wrote an inscription: "The pen falls and the fish jumps, and the charm is natural." The translation of the inscription by Zhu Di, vice chairman of the World United Nations Harmony Fund, reads: "Watching Mr. Zhang Chuansen's painting of fish, I seem to see Mr. Zhang's fish swimming towards me; It's so beautiful and vivid; So peaceful and rich; So harmonious and joyful. ”

Mr. Zhang Chuansen's works have been included in more than 100 classics, such as the "National Calligraphy and Painting Competition Winning Collection", "Everyone's Style: The Road of Famous Artists Series - Flower and Bird Volume", "Da Brian Artist Encyclopedia", "Chinese Art Image Ambassador", "Art Life", "Chinese Literary Artist" pictorial magazine, etc. The calligraphy and painting works were edited and reviewed by the "World Knowledge Pictorial" and published "The 70th Anniversary of the Founding of the People's Republic of China, a National Gift Album: A Chuan Sen Art Piece" and "World Knowledge Pictorial: A Special Issue of Zhang Chuansen, Han Meilin, He Jiaying, Wu Weishan National Rite on the 70th Anniversary of the Founding of the People's Republic of China". He has become one of the great artists with his artistic achievements. Mr. Zhang Chuansen's works have won unanimous praise from experts and society.

Zhang Chuansen retired in May 2003. In order to pursue his dream, he came to Beijing alone, visited friends to learn calligraphy and painting, learned from others, found a unique way, and concentrated on painting fish. After decades of hard work, Mr. Zhang Chuansen has won the reputation of "Chinese Fish King". He is well aware of the hardships and twists and turns of learning and groping alone, and has published a book on the painting techniques he has explored over the past few decades for everyone to learn from. In 2016, the Central Academy of Fine Arts (CAFA) included the book "Concise Techniques for Painting Fish and Shrimp" in the "Teaching Model of China's Higher Art Academies". The technique is unique and easy to learn, finding a shortcut for beginners to quickly learn to master drawing fish and shrimp.

Zhang Chuansen is famous for painting fish, and his calligraphy and poetry are also very high. Published by Jilin Literature and History Publishing House, Zhang Chuansen's collection of seal books "Mao Zedong's Poems" and "Selected Ancient and Modern Poems and Songs" and "Selected Famous Seal Books of Zhang Chuansen" have been well received by the society. He is a leading figure in contemporary Chinese painting, a national first-class fine art, the vice president of Beijing Academy of Calligraphy and Painting, a national inheritor of intangible culture, a cultural consultant of Beijing Youdao Wenyuan, a director of the Working Committee of the People's Artist Network, an associate editor of the Great Dictionary of Chinese Calligraphy, and the vice president of the National Rite Culture Professional Committee of the Chinese Population Culture Promotion Association.

Zhang Chuansen's residence is only 100 meters away from the Yihe River. The author went to visit, stood in front of the windowsill and looked at the sparkling and golden water of the Yi River, refreshed and thoughtful. The room is warm like spring, and the ink is fragrant. I was overjoyed to see Mr. Zhang use his original colorful fish technique, holding the pen in his hand, talking and laughing, splashing ink, flying up and down, and the carp jumping on the paper.
