According to the "Red Star Capital Bureau", a person in charge of a bacon brand surnamed Wang said that she saw a live investment advertisement in December 2023 and decided to cooperate with Shanghai Shengchenze Advertising Media Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Shengchenze Media"). The company promised to invite stars such as Huang Shengyi and Yang Zi to endorse her products, and guaranteed sales of 1.4 million yuan, otherwise it would be refunded proportionately. Ms. Wang said that she prepared bacon products worth 1.7 million yuan for this purpose, but in the live broadcast on January 16, her products were only broadcast for two minutes in the morning, and only Qin Jinjin was alone, without Huang Shengyi and Yang Zi. She waited until the evening and didn't see her products reappearing, let alone the same frame of the stars. In the end, she only sold one order of her product, and the sales were less than 200 yuan. Ms. Wang believes that Shengchenze Media did not perform the contract and asked for a refund for the termination of the contract, but the other party has been delaying and refusing to give it. She also found that she was not the only victim, and that many other businesses had suffered similar situations. According to statistics, a total of 71 merchants signed live streaming contracts with Shengchenze Media or its affiliate Shanghai Good Mother Film and Television Development Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Good Mother Film and Television"), and paid more than 30 million yuan in service fees, but none of them reached the expected sales.
In the face of the merchants' complaints, Huang Shengyi and Yang Zi also issued statements to clarify their positions. They said that they were invited by Douying Culture Media (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Douying Media") to help promote and bring goods to Qin Jinjin's live broadcast room as guests, and they did not make any form of authorization such as investment promotion and any commitment to guarantee quantity. They also said that they have fully fulfilled the content of the contract, including the agreed live broadcast time, and the need to help promote 30 designated products as guests. Huang Shengyi and Yang Zi's studio also stressed that they will resolutely pursue their legal responsibility for any unauthorized use of their likeness or name for any form of commercial activities. They also urged Douying Media to strictly perform the contract with all merchants and brands, and deal with the aftermath in a timely and proper manner. Some media exposed the contract signed by Huang Shengyi and Yang Zi with Douying Media, showing that their live broadcast time is 10:00-11:00 and 14:00-15:00 on January 16, and they need to help promote 30 designated products as guests, each product is not less than 2 minutes, and no other brands or products are allowed. The contract also stipulates that if Huang Shengyi and Yang Zi fail to arrive on time or fail to complete the live broadcast content, they will be liable for breach of contract.
In response to the merchant's report, the police have also intervened in the investigation. According to the Red Star Capital Bureau, on January 26, the police officer in charge of the case told reporters that the case had been accepted and was now in the investigation stage. He said that after accepting a case, there will be a result within 60 days at most, and if it is a criminal case, it will be filed, and if it is not a criminal case, it will not be filed. "Because this is an economic case, involving several accounts, not just the account of Shengchenze Media, we have to verify that the flow of funds has not all come out. Said the aforementioned policeman.
In response to the accusations of the merchants, Mr. Wang, the relevant person in charge of Shengchenze Media, also responded. He admitted that the data for the live broadcast on January 16 was indeed poor, but their contract was not for a single live broadcast, but for the duration of the contract to arrange for the anchor to continue to broadcast live. He said that if the promised sales cannot be achieved within the cooperation period, they will strictly implement the contract, refund the money in equal proportion, and arrange other live broadcast sessions in the future, and also arrange employees to make live broadcast slices. Mr. Wang also said that they did not run away, but because a few days ago, some businesses directly beat up their colleagues in the company, so they did not go to work for the time being to avoid confrontation. He said they had provided the relevant information to the police and were waiting for the results of the investigation.
