In response to a major safety accident in a school in Nanyang, Henan Province, where 13 people were killed, a fire occurred. The District Disabled Persons' Federation attaches great importance to and continues to deepen the investigation and rectification of risks and hidden dangers in the work and life of persons with disabilities. On January 22, Zheng Wei, member of the party group and vice chairman of the board of directors, led a team to conduct a special inspection on safety management of three designated rehabilitation institutions for disabled children, including the Xiangyang Rehabilitation Center for Disabled Children, and one adult care service institution for the disabled.
The inspection focused on the service places for the disabled and the families of the disabled, focusing on the key links such as water, electricity, fire and gas for the disabled, especially in view of the characteristics of frequent fire accidents in winter, deeply learning the lessons of major fire accidents, and conducting another survey of the safety management of fire prevention and electricity and gas in key parts, and the implementation of the emergency mechanism to prevent personnel from getting lost.
In particular, in the early stage, the District Disabled Persons' Federation and multiple departments reviewed the rectification of 12 potential safety hazards and family safety risks in 8 categories found in the investigation of 16 service institutions for the disabled and 9,568 disabled families in the district to ensure that the rectification is in place.
The District Disabled Persons' Federation will always tighten the string of safety, consolidate safety responsibilities layer by layer, strictly implement various safety control measures, adhere to the bottom line of safety, and effectively protect the safety of the lives and property of the disabled.
