From 1989 to 1994, the state allocated a total of more than 50 million yuan to carry out the first overall overhaul of the Potala Palace, and from 2002 to 2009, it invested about 179.3 million yuan again for the protection and restoration of murals, the protection and maintenance of Syracuse, environmental remediation and the configuration of public auxiliary projects.
