Walk into Yidege - interview with Bai Bing, the general manager of Yidege, the originator of Chinese ink

【 Author: Senzen 】

As a calligraphy learner, it is indispensable to have a good ink. Moreover, since the study book, I have been using only Yidekaku ink.

On a winter weekend, it was really a pleasure to be invited to Yidege and talk with the general manager of Bai Bing.

Yide Pavilion was founded in Beijing Liuli Factory, in 1865 during the Tongzhi period of the Qing Dynasty.

The founder, Mr. Xie Songdai, developed the first drop of easy-to-access ink in Beijing Liuli Factory. The advent of ink ended more than 2,000 years of Chinese civilization in the history of ink research.

Mr. Xie created the Yidege brand, created the Yidege store, and personally inscribed the name of the store and put forward the store motto:

An art is enough for the world

There are many books from ancient times

Mr. Bai Bing, general manager of Yidege Ink Industry, was elegant and modest, eloquent, and brought the tidbits of the century-old story at his fingertips, which suddenly put me in it, from the end of the Qing Dynasty to the Republic of China, from before the liberation to after the liberation, from yesterday to the present, telling the story of four generations of Yidege people.

159 years of time travel in awe.

I was fascinated by the stories of the craftsmen and literati who have been engraved in my heart for 159 years, and nothing touches people's hearts more than the vivid characters and stories......

Over the past 159 years, Yidege, these three big characters, have become a symbol in the history of Chinese culture, and hundreds of millions of people are familiar with it, use it in their hands, and pass it on to the world.

Mr. Xie is from a family of literati in Hunan. Grandfather and father were both imperial examination jinshi. Therefore, he came to Beijing with his father and brother to study in Guozijian since he was a child, and was awarded the Guozijian Dictionary Book and Zhengqipin Wenlinlang. Because he remembered that the students suffered from the study of ink in the imperial examination, they devoted themselves to the experiment and finally became a great tool. The ink developed was used exclusively for the imperial examination. All candidates enter the exam, each holding a plate of ink to enter, which is also spectacular!

On the third floor of Yide Pavilion, four calligraphy works are greeted by the precious ink treasures left by the four generations of Chinese calligraphers and chairmen: Shen Peng, Shu Tong, Qi Gong and Su Shishu when they tried ink in Yide Pavilion. There are countless such precious works. Therefore, Yidege plans to build a museum in the later stage, and at that time you can feast your eyes on the masterpieces of famous artists.

It's edible ink!

In 2018, after the opening ceremony of the Sino-Japanese Famous Calligraphy Exhibition, Yidekaku gave a bottle of high-end new products to the chairman of the Japanese White Fan Calligraphy Association, Mansei Taneya. Mr. Taneya Mansei was very happy! He couldn't put it down! However, in the process of handing over his son, the gift accidentally fell down, the fine porcelain vase was broken, and the ink flowed out. Mr. Taneya was suddenly shocked, and his mouth was wide open, not knowing what to say. In an instant, the scent of ink came to my nose. Mr. Junichi Kawano immediately came over and dipped his hand in a lot of it and put it in his mouth to taste, and while tasting it, he praised it repeatedly, "Good ink! Good ink! Itokaku presented a bottle to Chairman Mansei Taneya, and he turned his injury into joy! The photographer captured this historic moment!

The story of the Japanese artist "eating" ink became a big hit in the market for a while, and it became a good story!

The peaks and mountains are faintly visible, and the clouds and smoke are swallowed, which is uncaught by the ancients; ”

Mr. Li Keran responded with a smile: "Without the ink of Yidege, I would not be able to paint." ”
