Hello everyone, I'm Cannon. The subway is one of the most common means of transportation for many people, but recently there has been a debate on the Internet, I don't know if you have seen it? That is, many people oppose the subway security check and propose to cancel the subway security check. I took a look at everyone's opinions, and they suggested cancellation for three reasons:
Reason 1: Security does not play a big role
Although proponents of security check believe that security check can effectively deter and prevent terrorists and make it safer for everyone to travel. But many people believe that security checks don't actually play a big role. Because of the need to queue up at the security check, the queue outside the subway is so long, but it has formed a major danger point, that is, a new crowded point outside the subway, and terrorists do not seem to need to go through the security check to carry out terrorist activities?
In addition, many people say that there are many loopholes in the security check, for example, the inspection is not strict, the staff is formalistic, just like according to the security rules in most places, liquids need to be tested separately, but some people have carried drinks into the subway many times, sometimes in their coats and sometimes on the side of their backpacks, and there is no obstruction. There are also people who are not stopped and searched when the security gate or hand-held security detector rings when they go through the security checkpoint.
In fact, if we want to achieve the effect of deterring terrorists through large-scale security checks, the method is also very simple: improve the accuracy of security checks, and make all security checks as if they were flying planes, or the Olympic Games, with the same level of strictness? But how long does it take for a person to go through security checks on an airplane? I take off my belt and take off my shoes, and this method is moved to the subway station, especially during the morning and evening rush hours, and the public transportation will be paralyzed immediately.
Reason 2: The cost of security inspection is too high
Many oppose subway security because they say that the cost is too high, such as the salary of the security inspector, the cost of equipment maintenance, etc., and other expenses. Now that the economy is in a downturn, the country's finances are also tight, and most of the subways are still losing money even with government subsidies. Among them, the Beijing subway has the largest subsidy, with a subsidy of 26.286 billion yuan last year, and if the subsidy is deducted, the Beijing subway has the largest loss, as high as 24.104 billion yuan. In 2022, the security expenditure of the Beijing subway will be 1.3 billion. It accounts for 11% of operating costs. Therefore, if this mode of security inspection is maintained, it will put a lot of pressure on the national finances. This statement is quite reasonable, and it seems that everyone is still thinking about the country.
Reason 3: Security checks reduce the ride experience
Many people have reported that the security check has significantly lowered their riding experience and artificially created blockages. Because of the security check, there are so many people that they can line up outside the subway station, which seriously affects travel and efficiency. Especially if you are in a hurry and need to be in a hurry, it is really devastating. If a non-inductive security inspection device is developed now, so that people can pass through the security area directly without stopping, then the riding experience will be much better, but this technology will not be available for a while and a half, and I feel that it will only be possible to achieve it when AI is developed in the future.
Okay, the above is a summary of the three reasons why many people are now opposed to subway security and call for the cancellation of subway security.
