Compared with the train's "7 days in advance free refund" and temporary refunds, up to 25%, in civil aviation services, it is difficult to get free refunds for air tickets, and voluntary refunds are expensive problems that passengers complain a lot.
In response to the question of whether a "ticket is expensive" can be refunded and repurchased, China Southern Airlines announced that if the fare is reduced after the ticket is purchased, it is allowed to re-purchase the ticket within 24 hours after the ticket is purchased, and the original ticket that meets certain conditions will be refunded free of charge, while China Eastern Airlines emphasized that if the price of the ticket is reduced after the original ticket purchase channel is reduced, it is allowed to re-purchase the ticket within 24 hours after the ticket purchase, and the original ticket that meets certain conditions will be refunded free of charge.
China Southern Airlines and China Eastern Airlines have significantly reduced the cancellation fees for economy class. Taking China Southern Airlines as an example, the change fee for 4 hours before the departure of R class of economy class has been reduced from 100% to 60%, and the refund fee has been reduced from 100% to 75%. In addition, if China Southern Airlines passengers voluntarily change their service 7 days in advance, most classes will be exempted from handling fees.
According to the "Voluntary Change and Voluntary Refund Fee Standard" disclosed on the official website of China Eastern Airlines, all classes can be refunded or changed free of charge 30 days before the scheduled departure time of the flight, and some classes can be refunded or changed free of charge within 7 days to 30 days before departure, and some classes will be refunded or changed free of charge, and some classes will be charged a refund fee of 5%~20% or a change fee of 5%~10%.
At the same time, the two airlines have also revised the relaxation of the rules for cancellations due to illness. For passengers who are unable to travel due to illness, both domestic and international tickets can apply for change or refund due to illness, relax the scope of medical institutions recognized by the airline to hospitals and subordinate medical institutions listed by the National Health Commission, and accompany passengers who meet certain conditions can apply for ticket refund and change together with the passenger due to illness, and the number of passengers can be relaxed to 5 (inclusive).
In addition, China Southern Airlines announced that factors such as aircraft type changes that make it impossible for you to travel, flight changes that cause flight changes, and flight stopovers are included in the scope of free ticket refunds. China Eastern Airlines will include the above two factors and flight changes caused by flight changes into the scope of free cancellation and change, and temporary announcements should be made for airport transfers, natural disasters, and public safety reasons.
Air China has not announced the new rules for the time being. Air China's official WeChat account announced that it will issue 2 domestic no-reason refund coupons for each registered Air China mobile user, which will be valid for 1 year. Domestic one-way and round-trip tickets starting with 999 purchased on the Air China app can be used for ticket refunds through the app.

Rates for voluntary refunds vary depending on the class of service. Taking 2,000 yuan full-price economy class as an example, the full-price ticket (Y class) can save 100 yuan, and the discount ticket (M, U, E, T, etc.) ticket price is about 1,000 yuan, which can save 50-150 yuan, and the R class that did not refund or change in the past is now 20% for the forward (more than 7 days) refund rate, and 75% for the departure (within 48 hours), but the price of R class is relatively low, and the average can save 150 yuan.
For economy class passengers, there is no need to figure out the difference between different classes, and the actual refund price is subject to the display on the booking page, and the average refund cost is about 100 yuan after the implementation of the new regulations.
