A few days ago, we learned from the official Lotus Cars that it officially released the Lotus Hyper OS 1.4.0 version OTA upgrade. It is reported that the OTA upgrade has further expanded the scope of intelligent driving assistance, and has been optimized for the vehicle-machine system and human-computer interaction experience.
Compared with the previous version, after the OTA upgrade, the scope of application of the high-speed road pilot function has been further expanded, adding 16 new cities, supporting all expressways and elevated roads within the administrative areas of 22 cities, including Hangzhou, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Chengdu, Wuhan, Beijing, Suzhou, Ningbo, Xi'an, Nanjing, Chongqing, Xiamen, Qingdao, Foshan, Wenzhou, Kunming, Dongguan, Tianjin, Zhengzhou, Jinan, and Wuxi. It is expected to cover 60 cities across the country by February 9.
The Lotus Hyper OS system can now automatically steer the vehicle to change lanes, enter and exit highway ramps, based on the vehicle's set cruising speed, combined with real-time navigation routes and road conditions. In the state of high-speed road piloting, the system will intelligently adjust the speed of the vehicle to safely complete the lane change when the vehicle changes lanes, and when encountering large vehicles in the front lane, the system can also make corresponding speed adjustments according to the current road conditions to maintain the safety and smoothness of the vehicle.
In addition, after this OTA upgrade, the in-vehicle system has introduced the screen adaptive brightness adjustment function, which can automatically optimize the screen brightness according to the real-time change of light intensity in the car. Users can enable automatic brightness adjustment through the [Settings] - [Display] and [Status Bar] options of the vehicle system, and start a new intelligent and comfortable driving experience with one click.
At the mobile phone interconnection level, the OTA upgrade adds mobile phone interconnection functions, mainly including Apple Carplay and Huawei HiCar. Among them, Carplay supports wireless/wired connection, covering music, navigation, Siri voice control, phone calls and messages and other practical functions. Hicar supports wireless connectivity, and users can easily scan the QR code to connect to Hicar to access a number of functions including music, navigation, voice assistant, phone and video. In addition, the Lotus ELETRE is the first Lotus car to be equipped with this technology with the addition of an automatic folding function for streaming exterior mirrors, which is automatically activated when the driver locks the car.
The upgrade also includes a UWB digital key, which can be seamlessly integrated with smart devices such as the Apple iPhone and Apple Watch, allowing users to automatically complete a series of actions such as greeting, unlocking, and starting when approaching the vehicle, optimizing the user experience and being able to share permissions remotely.
