Shanghai, 7 Jan (Xinhua) -- A few days ago, Shanghai issued the first batch of 10 "Shanghai Standards," covering financial services, people's livelihood services, integrated circuits, and other fields. Among them, the standard of "gold ingots" and other items have aroused the curiosity of many people: the original "gold yuanbao" and standards? What are its criteria? What is the value of developing and publishing these standards? What's the point?

Gold, since ancient times, is a symbol of wealth, especially for domestic consumers, the higher the purity, the heavier the weight, the higher the value, and the more "gold expensive". However, the earliest gold ingots used in overseas markets did not value extreme purity.

"London is the hub of global gold trading, and the mainstream product in this market is 995‰." Gold senior practitioners told reporters that this means that the early domestic gold processing industry needs to exchange 999 ‰ or even 99.99% of gold ingots in Switzerland or other places to meet the needs of the domestic market.

"In the past, we needed to import gold raw materials for gold products, and the standard was also formulated by Switzerland and other European and American countries, when a gold ingot was a 400-ounce (12.5 kg) trapezoidal gold ingot. In order to meet our jewelry production needs, we often have to re-cut and process to carry out the next step of gold jewelry production. A staff member of a gold enterprise said.

With the continuous improvement of China's position and influence in the international gold market, the growing demand of global investors for the trading and price risk management of gold products identified in RMB is increasing, and it is urgent to form a "Shanghai Gold" price system and gold ingot standard system that includes both RMB-denominated "Shanghai Gold" prices and "Shanghai Gold" gold quality standards that reflect China's physical gold quality standards. In 2016, the Shanghai Gold Exchange launched the "Shanghai Gold" centralized pricing transaction, and adopted the opinions and suggestions of improving the upstream and downstream of the industry, supporting the gold ingot standard system.

Different from the previous international standards, the "Shanghai Gold" gold ingot standard has added 1 kg and 3 kg gold ingot specifications on the original basis. Among them, 1 kg of gold ingots are not allowed to have negative tolerances, trading by block, creating a precedent in terms of the weight of the number of blocks, its concentrated gold content is high, easy to store, easy to follow-up processing and other multiple advantages, so that this specification of gold ingots quickly became the main delivery variety of the domestic gold market.

"With the introduction of the new gold ingot standard, the 1 kg gold ingot with a gold content of 99.99% perfectly matches our needs. For gold companies such as Lao Fengxiang, it not only improves the convenience and practicality, but also reduces the cost. Lao Fengxiang spokesman Wang Ensheng said frankly.

According to reports, since the implementation of this standard system, it has been recognized by more than 80 international members and more than 100 agents of international customers of the Shanghai Gold Exchange, and has achieved mutual recognition of quality with the International Gold and Silver Market Association, so far, the gold trading volume using this standard has reached hundreds of thousands of tons.

In addition to "Shanghai Gold", in the first batch of 10 "Shanghai Standards", there are not a few who have gone abroad to become the "common language" of the world. The CCP12 quantitative disclosure standard previously released by the Global Central Counterparty Association (CCP12) has changed the complexity of opaque and unreliable information in the global financial derivatives market, and more than 95% of the CCP12 member units currently exceed the global financial market business have followed this disclosure standard, affecting the financial market scale of more than 500 trillion US dollars.

The importance of standards for the operation and development of a city is self-evident. As a super-city, Shanghai's industry standards in many fields such as medical treatment and transportation have also become synonymous with high quality.

Ambulances are an important tool for carrying life in modern cities. In order to better improve the quality of shanghai's emergency services, in 2018, the Shanghai Medical Emergency Center completed the compilation of the "Guardian Ambulance Configuration Specification", which is also the first local standard for ambulances in China.

In addition, with the improvement of the Shanghai metro network, more and more lines are running automatically. In this field, Shanghai Metro is the "leader" of the first fully automatic rail transit operation standard in China. It is understood that shanghai metro has formulated this strict standard in terms of management mode, business model, driving demand and other aspects based on the fully automatic operation experience of Line 10.

The first batch of 10 "Shanghai Standards" released this time is just the first step. In the future, on the basis of the working system composed of the "Shanghai Standard" logo promotion working group, the Shanghai Standard Evaluation Committee, and the third-party professional and technical evaluation agency, the "Shanghai Standard" will be further implemented and expanded.

The implementation of the "Shanghai Standard" logo system is an important measure for Shanghai to play a leading role in raising the line of standards and promoting the improvement of product and service quality. At present, many local standards in Shanghai have been upgraded to national standards, and positive progress has been made in public services such as energy conservation and consumption reduction, one network communication office, urban management, and cooperation in the Yangtze River Delta, which play an important role in improving product quality, facilitating economic and trade exchanges, and promoting technological progress and economic and social development.

Standards continue to improve, and the rule of law escorts all the way. Ding Wei, director of the Legislative Affairs Commission of the Standing Committee of the Shanghai Municipal People's Congress, said that in the rapid development of Shanghai, various new technologies, new industries, and new formats have emerged, and the society's expectations for high-quality development and the citizens' yearning for high-quality life have put forward higher requirements for standardization work. "Standards are the right to speak and an important means to enhance the competitiveness of cities." Shanghai is building a city of standards and a city of quality, and is providing a replicable 'standardized' development sample for all parts of China to achieve high-tech innovation, high-level openness and high-quality development. ”
