Rockstar has introduced a controversial change in Grand Theft Auto Online's first weekly update of 2024 that allows players to earn more money with paid phone clicks. This change includes a reduction in the cooldown time for payphone clicks, as well as monetary rewards. At the end of 2021, after the release of an update to Grand Theft Auto Online, the popular game of pay phones went live for the first time. Since then, the payphone hit has become a favorite activity among players due to its variety and great rewards.
Players have noticed the fact that the cooldown interval between each pay phone click has been significantly reduced from 48 minutes to just 10 minutes. At the same time, assassination bonuses are now paid at $30,000 and $10,000 for leaders and colleagues, respectively, down from $70,000 for leaders and $30,000 for colleagues. The normal pay call hit reward remains the same at $15,000 per mission. The good news for GTA Online players is that they can now earn up to $180,000 per 40 minutes instead of $85,000 if they successfully complete 4 pay calls (including bonus objectives).
That being said, there are a lot of disappointed Grand Theft Auto online players who see the recent change in pay phone popularity as negative. While the rewards are higher than before, players now also have to complete more missions, leading many to believe that this modification will change the way players play.
The update also adds additional new fun content to Grand Theft Auto Online, such as the majestic Declasse Park Ranger vehicle and the Wildlife Photography Challenge, exclusive to PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S, where players must photograph three different animals in each race. Thus in exchange for rewards. It will be interesting to see if the latest update of the pay phone hit of "Society and the Legal Column" will be popular with most fans.
