author:Morning Dawn three to the countryside team

Today, at the home of Mr. Zhang Huangyuan, I consulted the twelve processes of ancient papermaking, namely:

One: cutting bamboo;

Two: tart bamboo, 60 cm wide, 80 cm long bundled into a handful;

Three: flooded bamboo shoots (bamboo), in the three meters long, two meters high flooded bamboo pond for soaking, each bamboo shoot to put three pounds of lime, this process takes about 4 months;

Four: after clear water, there is a clear water pool next to the flooded bamboo shoot pond, and after flooding time, it is put into the clear water pool for soaking;

Five: cut bamboo shoots (bamboo), beat bamboo shoots (bamboo), cut the bamboo shoots (bamboo) to two centimeters long, now there is a machine cutting can be cut to longer;

Six: pick the bamboo shoots, beat the cut bamboo shoots into fine bamboo material, before the need to use water wheels to borrow the power of water to break the bamboo shoots, now use the machine to beat more convenient;

Seven: beating, put the fine bamboo material into the pulp pool and constantly stir to make bamboo pulp;

Eight: copy paper, use bamboo curtains in the pulp pool through traditional techniques to cover the bamboo curtains, a layer of pulp will form a wet paper the size of bamboo curtains after fishing up;

Nine: press paper, use wooden levers to press the wet paper to dry the water, and now use more machines to press;

Ten: loose paper, manually loosen the paper that has been pressed and stuck;

Eleven: drying paper, putting bales of paper in the sun to dry;

12: Packaging, the paper can be packaged after drying, exported to the new Matai a piece of paper has 1700 sheets, sent to other provinces is 15 pounds 55 yuan a piece, made into a yuanbao paper is more than 30 yuan a bundle.

The old man explained that paper production is now mostly made by hand and half machine, and with the help of the machine, the time required for steps that require a lot of manpower can be reduced.

Later asked whether the old man's children have the means of inheritance, the old man frankly said that the children and grandchildren have gone out to work, did not stay in the village to help make paper, and asked now more and more young people go out to work, will not face gradually no one to inherit the craft, papermaking after the disappearance, Mr. Zhang said: Although the number of people learning is getting less and less, but China is so big, there will always be people to learn, I believe this culture can be passed on. It is hoped that this traditional craft will continue to be passed on for thousands of years.

In the afternoon, he interviewed the owner of the village commissary on the development of the village in recent years, and the boss said that in 2018, the government renovated all the roads in the village, making it more convenient to enter and exit the village, and there were special people to clean up the garbage, and the sanitary environment in the village was also better. The government also set up a new lotus pond in the village, with a water wheel and a pavilion in the pond, the pavilion is named Cai Hou Ting, which is intended to commemorate Cai Lun's contribution in Deng Village, making Deng Village the first papermaking village in China.

When asked whether papermaking was helpful to the villagers' economic income, the boss said that families of all sizes in the village had opened small workshops to make paper at home, and even several villages up and down the surrounding area had begun to make paper. Compared with farming and selling vegetables, the income is much easier and higher. However, some large factories have machines to make paper, which has accelerated the speed of papermaking and reduced a large amount of papermaking time, from taking half a year to only 15 days to produce a batch of paper. This is undoubtedly able to greatly increase production, but the machine manufacturing caused serious environmental pollution in the village, resulting in the village streams and rivers are seriously polluted, fortunately in the first two years of government management after the factory pollution was eliminated, the current village water quality is also restored to the original clear bottom, the water flow is still accompanied by a group of small fish. The government has invested heavily in the development of tourism in Fuli Village, transforming the Zhangjia mansion left in the village into a memorial museum to welcome tourists, and the ruins of the Zhangjia mansion are also protected with a glass frame for tourists to visit. Moreover, when the government plans the village, it will also call the villagers to hold a meeting to discuss, and fully respect the opinions of the villagers to transform the village. The boss finally said that now every holiday, there will be many tourists to play, the flow of people has increased, and the sales of his commissary have also increased, and the income has also risen a lot. Finally, the boss lamented that he hoped that the village would develop better and better in the next few years, attracting more tourists and driving the economic development around the village.

In this interview, we saw the development of a small village, and in the process of such development, I felt the development of China. From the look in the eyes of Mr. Zhang Huang and the owner of the commissary, I saw their satisfaction with today's life and their hopes for China's future development.
