Recently, the China Trial Open Network released a trial notice, the cause of action is a dispute over portrait rights, the plaintiff is Wang Junkai, and the defendants are Guizhou Yipin Pharmaceutical Chain Co., Ltd. 501 Branch, Shanxi Zhendong Anxin Biopharmaceutical Co., Ltd., Shanxi Zhendong Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd., and Xia Jiang. The case will be tried in the Baiyun District People's Court of Guiyang City on the morning of January 8.
Among the above-mentioned defendants, Shanxi Zhendong Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. is an A-share listed company, Zhendong Pharmaceutical (300158), and Shanxi Zhendong Anxin Biopharmaceutical Co., Ltd. is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Zhendong Pharmaceutical. The 501 branch of Guizhou Yipin Pharmaceutical Chain Co., Ltd., which is also in the defendant's seat in this case, was established in 2020, and the person in charge is Xia Jiang, who is the chairman, general manager and actual controller of Guizhou Yipin Pharmaceutical Chain Co., Ltd.
Zhendong Pharmaceutical is a subsidiary of Zhendong Group (Shanxi Zhendong Health Industry Group Co., Ltd.). According to the official website, Zhendong Group was founded on October 1, 1993, starting with oil trading, transformed into a pharmaceutical company in 2002, and built the first GEM listed company in Shanxi Province in 8 years. Zhendong Group covers four major sectors of "Chinese and Western pharmaceuticals, health functional foods, health care supplies, and Chinese herbal medicine planting", and has 8 major industrial enterprises such as Changzhi Zhendong, Datong Taisheng, Tunliu Wuhetang, Taiyuan Anxin, Chinese herbal medicine development, decoction piece technology, Wuhe Medical Care Hall, and health care, with 32 subsidiaries and 3 major R&D platforms. The test results of Chinese herbal medicines are internationally recognized), with total assets of 13.7 billion yuan.
It is reported that the company owns a hair loss brand - Dafeixin, and the industry speculates that the infringement may be related to the product.
According to Beijing Business Daily, in response to the infringement, the reporter contacted the relevant person in charge of Zhendong Pharmaceutical, and the other party said that the company's advertisements have been reviewed, and the incident is that the store (Guizhou Yipin Pharmaceutical Chain Co., Ltd. 501 Branch) has made a picture by itself.
Zhang Wenbo, a senior partner at Beijing Jundu Law Firm and director of the life sciences and health care legal department, said that in general, such cases are settled. If the 501 branch of Guizhou Yipin Pharmaceutical Chain Co., Ltd. has independent business qualifications, Zhendong Pharmaceutical has no intention of joint infringement and does not need to pay money.

In 2021, Zhendong Pharmaceutical sold Langdi, known as the "King of China's Calcium", and transformed into hair loss, setting off a wave of storms in the capital market. However, in 2022, Zhendong Pharmaceutical began to fall into losses.
In 2016, Zhendong Pharmaceutical spent 2.646 billion yuan to acquire 100% of the equity of Kangyuan Pharmaceutical (later renamed "Langdi Pharmaceutical"), and since then, its performance has been rising, and the two companies have achieved a "win-win".
However, with the voice of Zhendong Pharmaceutical's "focus on the medical aesthetic market, deepen the field of oncology, reduce diversified development, and implement strategic slimming", Langdi Pharmaceutical can only become independent, and on August 17, 2021, Zhendong Pharmaceutical plans to sell 100% of the equity of Langdi Pharmaceutical at a price of 5.8 billion yuan.
Since 2021, Zhendong Pharmaceutical has turned to the "hair loss economy" and began to vigorously promote anti-hair loss products. At present, Zhendong Pharmaceutical's main anti-hair loss product is Dafeixin minoxidil liniment for the treatment of androgenetic alopecia and alopecia areata, and the sales of this product in 2021 and 2022 account for more than 10% of the company's main business revenue.
In the first three quarters of 2023, the company achieved operating income of 2.784 billion yuan, down 0.55% year-on-year, net profit attributable to the parent company of -874,200 yuan, down 103.53% year-on-year, and operating income of 851 million yuan and net profit attributable to the parent company of -15.4166 million yuan in the third quarter, down 20.74% and 15,654.59% year-on-year, respectively. As of noon on January 4, Zhendong Pharmaceutical's share price was 6.48 yuan, down 1.97%, with a total market value of 6.658 billion yuan.
