On December 22, 2023, it was reported that the excavation of the Chengxian No. 1 tunnel of the Tianlong Railway exceeded 1,000 meters, marking a phased victory in the construction of the project and laying a solid foundation for the smooth breakthrough of the Chengxian No. 1 tunnel.
It is reported that Tianlong Railway is a key project of the national medium and long-term railway network planning and the "13th Five-Year Plan" of Gansu Province, and it is also the first railway project in Gansu Province with full investment and independent construction. After the completion of the project, it will effectively improve the traffic conditions in the southeast of Gansu, improve the layout of the regional railway network, fill the gap in the regional road network in Gansu Province, extend the Tianshui-Pingliang railway to the south, and open up a new convenient channel for passenger and freight transportation from southeast Longxi to Sichuan and Chongqing.
